looks cool to me. Not much need for that quantity of ram. However, imo it's always a good idea to buy the largest memory denominations within budget for future-proofing.

Pretty good price/performance, Not the best timings tho! Ive seen a few people running 12gb @ 2000+

Since I don't do much benchmarking these days, I have no need for tight timings any more.
I found myself needing more memory for running virtual machines & ram drives among other things, so I switched from 6gb to 12gb.
You can't really expect much more right now from the chips available in this price range. I paid more for my old 6GB kit of Dominator than I did for the Vengeance.

May i ask what you do for work which involves 8gb+ of memory?

    no work, just fun
while running a ram drive and virtual machine i was running low on 6gb, so i just fancied an upgrade
i could always allocate less, but where's the fun in that

Would be thinking you can run them up to 1.65. Shoud be able to grab 2000 easy. Will let you know in a week or so.

Good memory but the XMS3 heatspreaders are much nicer! :p
Besides, they wouldn't need such obstructing spreaders since the lower Voltage, except for extreme overclocking/overvolting perhaps...

    EDIT: bad language removed. :)

Well since i have liquid cooling height is not an issue. I think the newer heat spreaders are nicer though, as they are good at cooling IE: More fins and a lighter stamped material means less density to travel through. We will see. i have seen them reach over 2100 on some MB's like mine as well, so i am hoping for the best. These OCZ's i have now have been crap. I will send them in for replacement soon as these others come in. Anyone want a 6 GB set of new OCZ 7-7-7-24 CR1 DDR3 1600 it wil be up for sale or just keep it for my wifey's next gaming rig!

Well it has been a couple months since i got this memory. Been good at stock speeds but over clocking has been a bit more difficult then i would like to admit. I'll tell ya thou. "It has fixed all my unknown crash's that i could not find a definitive answer for."
I have had not 1 non self caused crash since i put in this memory. So i am happy about that. :eek:c:

I'll tell ya this also: I must be a walking Guru 3d testimonial for your Reviews on hardware. :supercool

So thanks again, and keep up the good work!
