yeah it does feel good to upgrade when the performance jump is big. I would not have replaced my 8800GTS 320 with the 8800GT had my friend not offered to get my GTS so he could SLI it with his GTS 320 and replace it with an 8800GT at no expense on my side. I feel sorry for the 8800GT though, I only used it from Nov 07 to April 08..after that I left home to move to SG and its been with my mom ever since and she uses it for internet and yahoo messenger ..poor 8800GT never had the chance to use its power..its going to die underutilized lmao

Oops it was the 9800GT, but I think I got it on the cheapside for like £60-70 I believe. At the time it did make a big difference, and a big jump with WIE when I got the 250GTS. Lol I still got the 9800 box, I sold it to my friend, but I somehow still have the box.

Well I remember when GTAIV came out for the PC, already had it for the PS3 thou, but wanted it for the graphics side. I looked at the back of the box, and was like yup my card/cpu can run it fine. I bought it, and to my shock I was like OMFG it's a bloody slideshow, and that made me upgrade to the 9800gt with A Phenom x4.
Well my favourite GPU all round has been the 8800GT, was a huge jump up in performance at the time, and was great value, was far too hot and noisy though. The 460 also, but mostly due to how cool and quiet it is, the thing was idling in the low 20s during Xmas.

I choose the SLI 7900 GT. That was the only time when I could get myself in the global top list of 3DMark scores at guru3d, with an affordable system. Specs were Athlon 64 4400+ Toledo @ 2750 MHz (250x11) with 1 GB DDR500 CL2.5/3/3/7. Video cards voltage modded and at 730 MHz core, beating the 7900 GTX for good in 3DMark. Everything was watercooled. In real world there was a big bottleneck with their only 256MB RAM when I wanted high AA at 1600x1200-2048x1536, but the benchmarks rocked.
