mine where 6600GT- some how i OC'ed this and it ran at the speeds of a 7800GT i swear, maxed out FEAR and didnt go under 30FPs 7800GTS- the AGP one... sucked, didnt see much difference from my 6600GT 7900GTX- sucked also, they were plagued with artifact issues... /tear 8800GTX- great card but only saw its real potential for a couple months when i had my i7, used to use it with a amd 4800+ which also sucked because of the awful bottleneck at any res ATI 5970- would have been awesome if their drivers were as good as Nvidia's, but when it comes to profiles and forcing AA, its just annoying(and no physx but thats eh) SLI'ed 480's- awesome, never an issue with these and no need to upgrade for another year or 2

Yep here goes: 2003: FX5200 AGP 128MB -> made it through Doom 3 and Half Life 2 2007: X850XT 256MB AGP 2008: 8800GTX SLI -> tried 3 way sli, bucket of problems 2009: GTX280 1024MB -> didn't want SLI for a while 2010: HD5850 1024MB -> performed better than the G80 SLI in everything 2010: GTX 480 1536MB -> overclocked, it plays most games at the settings I like in hindsight, the GTX480 was a bit of a rushed choice to get the best performing single GPU solution. The 580 does sickeningly good job of making it look ordinary. :bang:
HA! I had a FX5200 for ages! That thing couldn't process its way out of a (wet) paper bag! Doom 3 on medium quality, 800x600 was a blistering 20-25 fps! I got F.E.A.R for christmas one year, loaded it up, promptly shut it down: I knew the time had come. Mind you, the 8800 ultras had an appaling failure rate that I saw. In a separate machine, I had 3 of the die. After only 2 years!

I've heard lots of bad critics for the FX-5200 performance, especially for 100 Euros that it did cost. You can't play anything at DX9 with it in practice, but, it was having acceptable DX8 performance. Gaming developers knew it sucked at DX9 and had it disabed by default for this card
