should i buy a new videocard or not i have NVIDIA msi GeForce GTS 250 1gb 256 ocd out of box :bang: ?????????????
That can't be answered till we know how you're utilizing your current card, i.e which games you play or want to play and at what res, etc. Oh and Welcome to Guru3D!
you wouldn't be asking if you where happy with your current new card. If you going to do any gaming on high resolutions u might want to get something better Maybe the place that you bought it from might swop it out for you if u hadn't had it too long I didn't think GTS250 was still available
The GTS 250 is more than satisfactory for playing Call of Duty, Company of Heroes, and BF2 at high resolutions with many, if not all of the settings pumped up.

Why are you running 32bit Windows 7? You'd be better servered with 64bit. You lose whatever system RAM you videocard holds. In your case, you'd only be able to address 3gb of system RAM because of the 1gb on your videocard. 32bit Windows can only address 4gb of RAM in total.
Paul - you left out some key info about your system and preferences: 1. What monitor resolution do you play at (consider any future upgrades possible during life of video card too)? 2. How much power does your system have to power a new card? Suggest providing make and model of PSU 3. What settings do you wish to play games at? For general information about upgrading a video card, with some specific guidance on evaluating your preferences and system requirements, I suggest you take a look at: http://www.upgradevideocards.com It also lists some tools for evaluating video cards. Then with a little more information, people here can assist you better on the specifics of card selection.
