I was getting (barely noticeable) dark spots/flickers on BC2 Vietnam with 10.10e -- these drivers have corrected that for me. I'm happy with them so far.

I'm running the 10.12's with the new CCC. I am wondering what is up with the 6000 series though? I know I'm a hater of.... Haters, who hate losing any amount of FPS, even for IQ gain, but anyways.... The 6000 series is the first one I've ever seen come out, that basically follows the same model ie 5850 to 6850, 5780 to 6780, ect. But the thing is, the 6780 is the price of the 5850, and the 6850 is the price of the 5750s. Not only that, but the 5850 seems to have more performance than the 6870! The 6850 seems to lose 20% of its FPS compared to the 5850, and the only improvements I see are MLAA and a few smaller things.

Am I missing something here? I wanted to upgrade, and I see I can get the 6870 for about 300, which is just about what I bought my 5850 for a year ago, but even then the 6870 doesn't seem to be as powerful as my 5850.

I'm only using a single card, are the 6000 series really designed to be a 2 card or more setup? Basically one card isn't enough to cut it, but combine two and damn, you've got a setup?

No, you only have a 5770, these are for the 6900's :)

What games are you playing that a single 6870 won't cut it?

Read the first review on this very site that ur a forum member of..

    http://www.guru3d.com/article/radeon-hd-6850-6870-review/1

6870 beating a 5850 is a clean sweep on non supported drivers.

Anyone with a 6870, does 10.12a offer any improvement over 10.12?

Oh dear, you seem to have the 1MB version of the card. :)

I did get my 6950 on Friday by the way, but I can't update my details, dunno why?

Also 3d mark 11 crashes for me on the physics tests so I cant post up a score, I'll see if I can find a solution tho.

I took a look, and have already looked at many reviews, not that one in particular. But what I saw, at 1920x1200, the 5850 was 10-15 fps higher than the 6850, and just 3-7 fps or so behind the 6870. Now with a little more voltage to my 5850, I can make a jump over the 6870, granted that is with the 6870 at stock, and mine overclocked, but what I was asking is, what is going on here? AMD/ATI, from back in the rage days, have not released a new line of cards without at least slight modifications to the GPU. What I'm seeing here is a great advancement of the cards features, and its abilities, rather than raw power. It seems AMD is comfortable on that end which is giving them time to focus around the card, and what it can do beyond, way beyond, just gaming and benchmarking. I think its quite interesting to see the industry taking this turn.

I noticed Unigine Heaven 2.1 benchmark is only using 1 GPU of my 5970 card in these and RC2 and 10.12 drivers. I thought they had profiles for Heaven? Why is it only using 1 GPU and not CrossfireX the 2 GPUs @ 100%?

Runs great on my 6970 in win7 64bit. No bugs/problems encountered at all so far.

But I am eagerly awaiting the next driver, be it leaked/hotfix or WHQL. I think this chip has a good bit of performance waiting to be unlocked through the next 2-3 driver releases. After all, the architecture of the 69xx chips is pretty radically changed compared to all previous chips. I am thinking that the second GPE is not being fully utilized in some cases, ex tesselation that was expected to be approx twice as fast as benchmarks show today.

I do not really need the extra performance though as even in 2560x1600 highest settings and 4xAA, gaming with this card feels really nice. No more stuttering (micro or otherwise) in any of the games I have tried the last couple of days.

PS: Mafia II does stutter (or grind to a halt) at times, but nothing more can be expected since it uses nvidia PhysX and I am not about to buy a dedicated card just for that.

Certain to be a boost in performance, new front end, the doubled tessellation, and the new VLIW4 shaders. :)

Its sounding like us 68xx card users are gona be forgotten by AMD pretty quick then.. starting to wish i bought an effin 6950 now.

Btw im getting some stutter and sometimes freezing up in the movie scenes of GTA 4 EFLC with these drivers.

That's how im beginning to feel, and I went Crossfire.

Seriously, if they don't drop some decent drivers for these 6870s soon they will be the last AMD cards I buy out of principle. Nearly £400 on these two.

Why would AMD forget their highest selling range anytime soon FFS?

Chill, your card is basically the same as every other they've sold for the past 3 years they aren't going to be forgetting anything.
