Having watched every episode of SGU. I still wonder to this date wtf the story is actually about or going to be other than soapy drama with a stargate. I'm pretty sure there are more exciting Bold & The Beautiful episodes than SGU. And yeah, THOSE BASTARDS FOR KILLING GIN! I concur
Cancelled before i even finished Season1, seems Sci Fi definetly is a dying breed these days. I liked what i had saw of it though, not as fun as SGA, but alot better written.
What am earth am I going to do with no Stargate. It's been on TV for like 10+ years. Surely they can't let Stargate die with Universe, that would be terrible =(
Oh.... ****e. So now they concentrate on Warehouse 13, Eureka & Haven? What are we going to watch now? :3eyes: Eureka is for kids. yawn Haven is S..t, makes me think of Murder she Wrote crossed with the X-Files. Stupidly implausible & predictable. Caprica & SG:U were (whilst not 100% solid in each episode) real SCI-Fi shows with lots of hidden angles, story arcs & potential. Caprica was just getting really good too. As it started to show the way religion, technology & race can screw with our lives. I knew that the Sci-Fi channel was sliding when they changed their name to 'Syfy'. This is the 3rd series they've cancelled that had anything near an edge in regards of current world problems. The other series was Firefly.
Lots of people like it though, im not one of them though, but there is obviously enough who do to keep this trend going. Paul Greengrass is one of the worst offenders.
When you split up a single season of Caprica over the period of 3 years and it has poor ratings, then you know the network has issues. The Sci-fi channel has been as poorly managed as NBC, its parent network. I am pretty much done with the network and I'll stick networks that are known to stick with shows such as AMC or USA. What urks me the most is the fact that the viewing habits of 25,000 people dictate the lineup of every channel and cable network. Network executives keep trying to fight for the same audience, against other networks, but never try to produce shows for other viewers that don't want the same "reality" crap. Instead we have turned to the internet and we have been forced too. I wish I had a bunch of money, I think I would just start an online TV channel.
Yeah, Caprica is another show i stockpiled lots of episodes, then it gets cancelled, but more adult Sci-Fi isn't hugely popular, compare Moon to say Avatar. The way they judge ratings needs to be updated, or expanded, is that all they use in the US, 25,000?? So about 1/10,000th of the actual TV's.
Well I should be jumping with joy, I should screaming I told ya so, I called it from the third episode. Okay It lasted a season longer than I thought but I knew it would happen... so why am I not happy, why am I not jumping with joy? because that's it for Stargate, 1 feature film, 10 Seasons, 5 spin off seasons, 2 spin off of a spin off seasons, and 2 direct to DVD movies and the best part of 15 years...
Probably for the best that its done for good, it never quite matched the consistency of SG-1. Atlantis was fun, but too much of a kids show, and from the complaints it sounds like Universe tried, but failed to do a BSG style version
Well I heard they plan on making a stargate Atlantis movie. Anyways, the last 10 episodes better seal up all the storylines. If they leave the stargate franchise in a cliffhanger or with lots of unanswered questions, I will be pissed. I need closure!
