well few where still questioning that Fud again..

but yea those prices would be sick, i would pick a 6970 for just 275€ over 570, 580gtx (390, 490€) anytime :nerd:

    edit:
hm, actually add 19% vat and this could be it 328€., it says +vat by € too..

GTX570 is still cheaper than a 6970 though.

And it won't be 280€, its £280 which is 330€, and if your getting one, you will need to do it quick, as prices could supposed to go as high as £350 in a few weeks, but that could be marketing crap to get people to buy now.

    HD6970 is priced at $369
    HD6950 is priced at $299

Thats retail price according to IXBT (They receive info straight from AMD in Russia)

A bit of early benching at OCUK gave the results of

6970 = 21000+ GPU score at stock in Vantage
    6970 CF = 34000+ GPU score

    may change with newer drivers

    OCUK to keep it fair.

Yeah, they are basically the same, but £10 cheaper is still £10, and according to gobby Gibbo it will be down to £250 by the end of the week.

That iXBT review isn't hugely impressive, but still good value at the price point.

Though have to say wtf was up with the temps and fan?? 92c, but 40% fanspeed!!! He trying to kill it, or you think its yet another driver issue?

Quick question to all gurus before the NDA lifts:

if the 6970 really costs 330€ and the 6950 260€, and knowing how much the 580 and the 570 cost, 500€ and 350€, do you think that those prices are indicative of the fact that the 6900 series are significantly slower than the gtx 500 series or is this a brilliant price scheme from ATI to gain market share and more money???

I think its great, price/performance for AMD is great, 2x 6950s for the price of 1 580... and the 6970 smashes the 580 at higher resolutions 2600x etc...

A bit of both from what's been leaked so far, the GTX580 is still overpriced, but the GTX570 is starting to appear at around 300€ here, which makes it also great value.

The 6950 looks like a spot on card, great performance, and value, best all round out of the four.
The 6970 less so though, but could be ideal for those who game a 25x16.

hope you dont mind im gonna qoute you here too, since its more busy lol:nerd:

they used 10.11 and this driver is crippled a bit (probably on purpose by amd).. i also saw another score around 21300P

with the final driver 10.12 it should be around 15-20% better perf,. that makes it around 24500 to 25500P.. + add another 11% for OC on stock volts and go :loco::pc1:

and those 2 leaking all these Heaven 2.1 benches used 10.11 anyway.. as for the real testers like Hilbert received (preview-10.12) only at this monday 2 days ago and that's directly from amd - VIP:D

I think 92C is OK. My HD4870 reached more. GPUs are not CPUs and are much more tolerant to heat. You can check nVidia website for comparison - they have listed maximum allowed temperature for different GPUs on their site. Fan is probably regulated automatically depending on temperature and would increase in speed if needed.
It's probably loud at 40 percent though.
    But I kinda expected that.

So when is proper driver version? I am afraid most reviews are already done or being finished at the moment and editors are just waiting for NDA lift.

6970 beat 580 in one of ten (Crysis) at 2.6% .
In other nine 580 raped 6970 up to 28%.

    Astonishing "success" for 6970.

Makes me wonder why you like bananas so much.

I hope Hilbert waited till he got the latest drivers before he did the review then, as they supposedly give quite a boost to the 69's :)
