What's the difference between a Quadro driver and "normal" one?

    Simple.
If you are using your computer for professional work (like massive 3D scenes or massive architecture projects in Autodesk's apps or something like that) install quadro, if you are using your computer for gaming use the geforce driver.

Typically, I always use Quadro drivers as it seems like nvidia spends more time on them (as they should) but I hear that they are no good for 460's and I have two so....

EDIT: Tried the 265.90's and they work perfectly on my SLI 460 setup. They are fast and super smooth. :)

I've been tempted to try the latest quadro one as well, but I only recently installed 263.00 and don't want to go through the hassle of installing another one since this is already working fine for me.

I hope the new WHQL is out soon though, this quadro indeed sounds amazing.

What improvements do you get then over the normal driver?

they have better image and like someone else said they optimize it more,.. although sometimes its not so good - doesnt have all the tweaks as geforce for some specific game or program, well depends but mostly they're better.

i liked 191.xx or 197.xx quadros more than geforce or now 259.xx, idk about these 265.90 i didnt like them much - they weren't so smooth as 263.06tesla at least in 2, 3 games..

Latest Quadro - Smooth HD MKV Movies , Nvidia Scaling Works , Minimum Frame rates are up in games, Gpu Usage is up

I've always found Quadro and Developer Drivers to be better than the desktops lol

in general, the Quadro drivers are geared towards image quality and stability, while geforce drivers are geared towards RAW performance NUMBERS (and usually have side effects), take your pick.

So far it's been great for me. Not a single complaint. I noticed the IQ seems better compared to Forceware. Thing's seem more crisp. BC2 has never looked quite as good!

Quadro drivers are specialy Developed for Cad programs ,as Autocad e.t.c.
But some versions are very good for gaming, I personaly avoid to install this drivers.

Laptop drivers are ment for powersaving not for performance.
    IQ same as Desktop Drivers.
but some versions are very good for gaming

Have to agree on this, bc2 being the only game i play atm it's easy to see the image quality is better than on desktop drivers. Plays smoother also, very happy with these could even say maybe the best driver i've used for my gtx280.

I think there's some sharpening around geometry edges that's giving people the illusion of better image quality.
