    Hello Beta.
I am so glad i found this nice place with that bunch of helpful ppl. Was trying to find a way to tweak the bios of my new GTX 460 and found this place (i mean the thread, am a long Guru reader, for years already). I hope you can help me, you are doing amazing job together with the author of the program. As i am at work atm and don't have the bios at hand, but will be at home in about an hour or 2... will you be online then and would you be able to change something in it for me?
The Card is Inno3D GTX 460 1 GB.

    Over current protection Gtx 470

Sorry guys (Burebista and BetA13) to bother you with this off topic but i believe its somehow pertinent, do you know anything about this over current protection for gtx 470?
if i pass the 1088mv the video driver just shuts down the card in a matter of 1 to 2 minutes, temps are fine and no artifacts at all in afterburner.
    Thanks in advance!

Beta, I just flashed with the changed bios and everything looks fine.
Just now while testing again i noticed that the tachometer actually reports always one and the same speed (around 1450 rpm). No matter what % fan speed i set in the MSI Afterburner. Any idea why this happens and where could the problem be? Anyone else noticed anything like that?

    thats strange..shouldnt be so...
Maybe Afterburners fault? Did u deinstall afterburner (complete and the settings also) and the installed new verison?

    u have a screen?

No i didn't reinstall anything as it seems to work fine. What i noticed is that the margin between 40% fan speed and 100 is the difference between 1440 rpm and 1500(1530 at moments) which is strange. Either the fan of the card is just like that or there is something strange.
Inspecting the fan rpm with nVidia inspector shows the same results as MSI Afterburner so i don't think the problem is in the Afterburner. Looks like the increase in voltage to the fan with increase of % speed is very very small...or the fan is not working properly. I also don't hear it increasing speed at all.
Unless MSI afterburner doesn't set the speed % correctly?

hmm, was the fan before the flash faster?
or is it maybe just the highest speed it can get..i really dont know..i had never anyone saying this..

    greetz Beta

edit..maybe u wanna reflash the original Bios and see if it changes something, if not then its the cards fault i guess...

I don't think it was faster. Haven't payed attention to rpm before that, just trusted the % is correct but noise from increase never was audible before, not now. Here is a screeny which shows how the % fan speed rises, while rpm stays the same. The strange is that at 30% fan speed, the rpm is still almost the same, around 1400.
