Is the new MLAA feature of the ATI going to sway anyone's choices....... ?

I think Nvidia is getting it too from what I hear? maybe just a bad rumor though. Either way I dont like MLAA simply because of the way it makes things blurry.

EDIT-I need to make it clear that I have a HD 6870 right now that im messing around with.

Nope I talking 5870, 2 in crossfire are fast enough for bout any game but the tess really sucks. I do a little benchmarking and i hate the fact that 2 480's can beat my 4 5870 when it come to any benchmark that requires Tess.

    http://www.engadget.com/2010/11/07/nvidia-promises-fastest-dx11-gpu-on-the-planet-very-very-soon/

theres a video there describes the gtx580 in detail. theyre saying its the fastest dx11 card ever... but thats because the 6970 hasnt been released yet so we dont know the direct comparison between the two cards.

its using a vapor chamber cooler, so if its done well, it will run fairly cool.

but that displacement style bump mapping for tessellation... that seems like it would spank amd.

And on and on the rumor mill goes... Let's stick to facts, shall we?
And currently we have none. We don't know how those two cards compare at all yet...

I can be wrong but is not displacement mapping a DX11 features allready used in most DX11 games ?

Nvidia fat morrron, said that 580 has fastest GPU on the planet, how could he do this if he don't know performance level of 6970?

    3x5870>2x480 on most games.
What are you talking about ?

    3x5870 at defaults

Well, just a pretty wild guess here, but they're probably comparing that to the performance level of cards which are on the market today. ;)

I think it's relatively safe to say the 580 is going to be faster though I don't think its going to be by a long shot and if the the 6970 is alot cheaper I will go with it now as I did with the 4890 when the gtx 200 series was out.

After reading a plethora of reviews, it is disappointing to see GTX580 struggle and unable to beat 5970, especially since AMD has lowered the price on the latter SKU. I thought this would be the case from the start however...

It's not disappointing.... this just a refreshed GTX480 (this time with complete SP)... and for a refresh, they have work well on it, even if the faster clock and memory bandwith help a lot. ( 2/3 of perf gain come from here, just need look an overclocked GTX480 review )
Offcourse we are speaking a fully enabled GTX480, and the minor tweaks on it make the card kick in .... a good refresh... not a real new thing, but a good refresh...

Now let's see if a completely rethinked Cypress architecture (new VILW4), with higher bandwith memory ( rumor say 2gb with faster GDDR5 ( 5-6000mhz) + surely a lot tweak on the weak parts of the Cypress ...will bring on the table.
