Hmm. I like Leffe, La Trappe, Westmalle Dubbel/trippel, Hertog Jan, Jupiler, Grolsch, Bavaria (sometimes), and I don't like Heineken.
Trappist fan myself... Rochefort, Chimay, Westmalle. I love experimenting though (I usually try something new every weekend) and I love craft beers in general. Micro breweries such as Nøgne Ø and Ægir make fantastic beers (especially their IPA's!) I also love Duvel, which is probably the best "mass produced" beer in the world. Do your countries have Christmas beer traditions? It's a big thing here and large amounts of awesome heavy beers are now becoming available for the season. Julebokk? Yes please.
-European beer: In excess of 10% alcohol -Australian beer: ~5% alcohol -US beer: Less than 4% Gotta love Europe! The most expensive thing I've ever consumed:
Leffe Blond is my favourite. Hoegaarden as a close second. Most of the beers posted here wouldn't sell a single bottle in Belgium
I drink alot of strong cider, its cheaper. But when i do drink Ale my favorite is Wychwood Brewery - Hobgoblin. Cheers
My award goes to Hertog Jan Primator. Basically 110% of everything that's good about beer. Haven't had a beer in months btw. Couldn't care less. Sh!tty summer...
bold malty taste, caramel roasted kinda flavor, nice bitterness without killing you at the end, nice subtle roasted caramel malt after taste, nice body, I find it a bit smooth, but not smooth smooth... goes really well with anything BBQed or beef or pork. will over power anything with a mild taste. very floral, almost sweet, smooth, bubbly, slightly bitter at the end... would drink again as a last beer, or a nice beer to eat something fish and chips or any other kind of mild flavors or to wash down the saltyness of a meal. puerto rican beer, hence, local for me, cheap, refreshing and slightly bitter, although it has an alcohol-y note I tend to hate, hence I can't drink more than 2. goes well for our hot days and nights of summer. but I wouldn't drink this to enjoy it with a meal other than chicken wings.
