Don't want to debate theology or doctrine, but you guys have it all wrong.
Churches preach two fundimental things:

There is a standard by which you should live.A clear difference between right and wrong.

Those who ask for forgiveness, and are sorry for their sins will be forgiven.

They aren't there to accept whatever lifestlye you chose to live, they promote their own agenda.

That Sign is a bit over the top, but all in all, they aren't too different than a parent.Love unconditionally, but discourage bad behavior.

 

pls be aware that "just jealous" is the rationalization vapid morons routinely give to explain away legit, earned scorn. ie every girl or guy who is halfway decent looking and has had people sucking up to them because they have money, fame, power, etc will use the "just jealous" card to attempt to dismiss criticism rooted in moral examination of their actions or character. you tread a thin line with that idea.. especially defending a mop-headed girl-boy who cant sing and has no reason to have ten million people figuratively sucking him off :nerd: ;DDD

 

True, but a "loving" church wouldn't hold up signs that say "God hates gays" like WBC does.

Christianity tends to treat sex as a nothing more than a method of procreation between married people. "Go forth and multiply." Going by that, homosexual sex would be seen as entirely for the pleasure, which is a then a vice, which goes against their entire concept of the act. Because of that I could see why they frowned upon it.

But even so, there's no reason to go about touting stuff like that. "Love thy neighbor." It has no conditions. And no where does it say to ridicule the sinners. It says to pity them and help them. What these churches do is not Christian.

There's a difference between people who show up at a funeral screaming at grieving widows and people who tell you that they love you & believe you're going to die if you don't change your behavior.

The bible says that if we do not warn a man of the wrath to come, that his blood is on our hands*. The bible does not consider it inherently 'hateful' to tell somebody about hell nor necessarily that they're going; provided that it's true. However, it is recognized that people often say those things out of hatred, and we're commanded to speak with humility and love . People often disobey that command, and that is shameful.



*I've always interpreted this as meaning people who haven't already been warned because of the second half of the verse. Most folks in the USA have had plenty of warning so I don't really feel compelled to speak up very often, opting instead for the command not to cast my pearls before swine. (not that I think of them as swine, simply that's how that verse goes ) It's not a command to scream at the same guy over and over until we're blue in the face or knocked out.

Not really cookies but some kind of 'dishes' out of virgin's poo. Japanese are famous for their porn and virgin fetish. (Can't beleive people could eat this ****, even some Chinese flew to Japan just to eat this kind of 'dishes')

They basically hire some virgin and give them food and drinks (selected) and they take their poo after a week. They then mixed the poo with some kind of seasoning and deep fried it.

However, my gripe is that there's only one condition to whether or not one goes to hell, and homosexuality has nothing to do with it. Christianity is not about following strict rules, it's a relationship! It's a fact that there will be drunks, rapists, homo's, murders, etc in heaven as long as they had a relationship with Jesus.

It angers me so much when I see people take Christianity and turn it into some fear-mongering, hate machine.
