Anyways i go into PetSmart and ask the chick at the fish section if i could get 5 gold fish and she says sure, she proceeds to get the fish and asks my what size tank i have and i say 10 gallons and she immediately goes "Oh we cant sell more than two fish if we know they're going to die, It's store policy" and I'm like "what?" and I say "I don't think they're going to die, a 10 gallon tank is plenty big enough for 5 fish." but she only gets 2 out, i say "Whatever" and go to the check out counter to pay for them, the cashier asks what size tank i have... so i say 25 gallons and she checks me out. WHATS UP WITH NOT SELLING ME FISH? They sell ****ing fish bowls that aren't even a gallon... and why would it matter if they died anyway? they sell crickets for 8cents to feed to reptiles, I don't think goldfish are much more intelligent.
You should consider purchasing piranhas. That way you can go buy feeder fish all the time. AND WATCH THEM GET 'ET! It's fun My buddy used to have them, they were hardcore.
Or tell them you want to eat them. Or that you intended to take them outside and dump them on the hot pavement, then shout "Fish Fry!"
Hrmm google says you're wrong. http://www.google.com/search?q=how+many+gallons+per+gold+fish&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-USfficial&client=firefox-a
I used to buy them all the time when I was in college to feed my piranha. In fact they sold them to you cheaper if they knew your just using them for feed. You would just go to the store and ask for feeder guppies or goldfish.
Getting kept in a bowl or being at risk to be eaten by bigger fish. I'd take the bowl, lucky fish that don't remember anything. But Peta, People Eating Tasty Animals.
Well the key is to make sure the water is properly filtered and has enough oxygen in it. Without doing that the fish will die far too early not matter what. As for Peta, they're probably hypocritical terrorists. Now if you'll excuse me I have to go finish eating my elaborate dinner of endangered species. Oh, I almost forgot to mention, you deserve a powerful left hook to your liver for that abomination of an avatar... at the very least.
I had a big juicy steak today. I love eating things that used to breathe. It adds to the flavour But seriously, piranhas. I totally want some now. They're so cool!
So; three fish per gallon? That should give you an idea. Just make sure a "ten gallon" tank has aeration and the fish should be fine. Of course, the larger the fish, the more space they need.
a 10 galloon tank is not enough for 5 goldfish... we have a huge tank with 3 koi and 5 goldfish though, cute things :>
Next time they try to do this to you, OP, show them this and say that this beaut of yours is parked a few blocks from here not to distract people. That should do just fine even for PETA fanatics
what a load of nonsense, i got a 11 gallon tank with 8 Tigerbarbs, 2 golden Cichlids and about 5 Convict Cichlids, oh and a Sucker fish they are happy and have been for the past 18months. i used to have 5 Piranhas when i was younger and my garden centre stopped selling me gold fish because i used em as food, they only asked as i was in there every 2 weeks or so to buy em.....lol
