2K Games And Irrational Games have announced BioShock Infinite the next chapter in the BioShock franchise. In BioShock Infinite you play Booker Dewitt a disgraced former Pinkerton agent 'who gets... More...
I thought Bioshock was about 9842 times worse than people gave it credit for. It bored me in every way. At best it was "meh" at worst it was a pile of steaming dog crap.
People sure like their vitriole online. Regardless, it is good to see they are fine with completely altering their game's dynamic, at least where locale is concerned. It's also a nice turn to see focus change to the 1910s as it seems the 1950s-1960s have become a bit of a common theme recently.
I'm glad about the change, I loved the first 2 but I would have been pissed if they kept recycling rapture as well. I was hoping for a change. I pictured maybe it set in russia in the snow and such...a city under the ice. But the acid droppers on the 2K board dreamed of bigger things. 1st rapture ideas meeting: Kevin Levine: "So I have this idea for a game..." 2K CEO: "and what is it about" Kevin Levine : "it's about an alternate history set in the 50's involving genetic experiments and it's set in an underwater city" *CEO's eyebrows raise to a point previously thought impossible* CEO: "and what will you be calling this underwater city?" Kevin Levine: "Rapture" *CEO proceeds to have multiple orgasms* years later Kevin Levine: "So I have another idea for the last game in the series..." CEO: * eyebrows already raised in anticipation * "what is it?" Kevin Levine: "So this time it's going to be set in the future in a city called columbia" *CEO looks slightly disappointed* Kevin Levine: "the city will be floating in the sky" *CEO had a stroke...and with half his face slanted he asks through a drooling mouth* "What will you call the game?" Kevine Levine: "Bioshock Infinite" *CEO dies of massive heart failure due to mind fu<k overload*
 Nice one... In all seriousness though, I hope the new city is better than Rapture. Underwater setting kind of sucked IMO.
Underwater setting was amazing and appropriate. They left the surface to avoid the economic burden their governments placed on them only to trade it for the weight of the ocean above them.
This series has been raped. The first one had a good storyline, and it was an overall great game. Any sequels can only be worse, as I feel the story was done at the end of the first game.
I've throughly enjoyed both bioshock games. First one was great and the second one I played simply for the fact that i had the big daddy drill. This concept looks very unique, and i'm excited for when it comes out.
