I needed a couple of more sticks of ram for my machine,It has in it at the moment a pair of ddr2 samsung 2x1gb 2rx8 pc2-5300-555-12-b1. I bought from ebay another pair of samsung, these ones are the exact same spec as the ones above,in fact i will write down what it says on the label.. samsung 1gb 2rx8 pc2 5300f-555-11-b0 they come with metal casing round them like a heatsync type thing,on ebay they were stated as been ddr2. They have arrived today but they will not fit,in fact they are ddr as far as i can tell. Could the seller have made a mistake and classed them wrong. The serial number on the ones from ebay are m395t2953ez4-ce66 almost identical to the pair i have now. When i check online it always comes back as ddr2. Could someone please stop me going mad as i am not really clued up on these types of things.
Well those memories (m395t2953ez4-ce66) are DDR2 but with ECC buffer (mainly used in professional computing). That is why it does not fit into your MB. http://www.memoryten.com/pc/006424/DDR2-240p-PC2-5300EFB-1GB/ Sorry but you will have to return them. cheers
Thanks,,thing that got me confused is that they fit perfectly into a ddr slot on another computer, when i looked online about the differences between ddr2 and ddr2 ecc i thought the only difference was that they were a lot more stable,oh well, learn something new everyday. Thanks again.
