Worth upgrading from a Lian Li PC-61 USB to a SILVERSTONE FT01-B?

Hello, I really like this Lian Li case, especially the finely brushed aluminum, but lets face it, this Lian Li model is 7 years old that still uses 80mm fans and the inside is pretty cramped. The airflow is also not very good as the 80mm fans don't provide enough force. And what do you guys think of the SILVERSTONE FT01-B as my uprade? I'm just looking for a roomy modern aluminum mid tower that has better airflow than my Lian Li PC-61.

 

If it's not purely an aesthetic matter for you, I'd recommend something with more fans or bigger ones, especially since you run GTX480. Like Cooler Master HAF or Antec Dark fleet.

 

Why does it have to be a mid tower and not a big tower one? Check out Lian Li PC-P80 and the new PC-A77F, they're beautiful lol.

I thought about the Corsair Obsidian but the thing I don't like about it is its not full aluminum and the exterior design on the new Lian Li cases don't suite my tastes. I also prefer a mid tower case because I find full tower cases to be needlessly tall for my taste and the fact that I only use one optical drive and three hard drives atm, so no need to go full tower.

But based on your need/price/material I think that Silverstone case is good, BW version if you want one w/ a window.

 

waw I liked the 700D till I saw the price.

 

Corsair 800D best case ever made, well worth every penny.

 

Is the Corsair 800D/700D mostly aluminum or steel? If it is mostly aluminum instead of steel, I may consider it.

Because it weighs less and better cooling.
I have a SilverStone SST-FT01B-W but I prefer a Corsair 800D as Mrlips have mentioned

 

It only has an aluminum front the rest is steel and the 40 pound weight proves it.

 

I know what you mean about looks but personally, I think the older PC-P80 still looks fab. It's even bigger than a 'normal' full tower but to be perfectly honest I don't see that as a problem because it means better airflow with less noise.

 

I have the lian li a77, and I like it just fine.

I'm a fan of large front intakes (entire front is an intake mesh).

And it's got room for 2x power supplies.
Which is great since :
1) Each one acts like an exhaust fan,
2) I split the system load between them, so they're lightly enough loaded to keep the fans spinning nice and slow (quiet).

Yeah, the A77F that I already mentioned seems to be the new version of the one you have and its exterior looks very similar. It looks great, even.

 

I have the 800D and I'm a fan, but I don't have experience with any of the other high end case types.
