Hey Bodar! Just saw it: Couldn't believe that I just beat you - the BOSS - on GPU score! No LN2 here ;-) Cheers mate!
Your 4 gpus + 1 physx gpu to his two no wonder lol. And how about doing a more realistic run without physx on too.
Sorry !! I am just happy that this ****in system finally works! Didn't notice that Bodar just used two cores of 480! Sorry for that! I am now drunk but just happy! Without Physx - I guess just GPU score counts in Vantage, right? Now with PhysX Off GPU still not bad at 960 - PC is still silent ;-) Pls take my apologize coz :stewpid: BTW: Don't the 480's use PhysX as common ??:3eyes: 47K w/out PhysX??? :3eyes: Guess not!!
Didn't mean to stress ya out champ all good, Bodars cpu score is without physx as he's using a 6 core cpu. Your score is still very nice even without physx very nice system indeed would love to see some pics of it all on h20 too. hwbot don't take scores with physx in them is all guess it's just a pet hate of mine, I have a gtx 480 and never do physx runs but I post scores to hwbot so don't bother each to their own I suppose.
Sorry mate! I am not Andre Young - just a newbie ;-) Build on this rig for a time ;-) This is where I am sitting now: Have two of these on the outer wall of my house and the complete rig (MB, VoltRegs, RAM, CPU, and GPU's) is on WC. Cheers and good night! ;-)
Installed my second 5870, all work perfectly, untill i try OC with MSI, when i set Apply, system freeze, lock up .. ( need reboot ), any idea ?, i have maybe miss something... ( cat 10.5 - Afterburner 1.51-1.6 ) ( both cards are similar brand model, black PCB ) EDIT: Forget my post, i have finnaly fix it, it's needed to disable ULPS in registry or it make crash afterburner with crossfire or 5970
Man!!! Hans Dampf. Really nice setup and that gpu score is sick for sure!! Got to love the quad fire!
- I7 930@4242mhz - 2x HD 5870 @ 965/1288 mhz ( stock cooler ) 3DMark Score: P29725 3DMarks CPU Score: 26241 Graphics Score: 31101 http://service.futuremark.com/compare?3dmv=2220730 Little run, gpu's only @965/1288 , don't want push to much with the 2 cards with stock cooler.. and my 930 is definitevely not a good Overclocker, or it's the combo with DDR, who keep it back... it ask too much voltage on QPI/VTT and Vcore, if i can do some bench @4.6ghz hard to stabilise it for Vantage, ... or my PSU is not enough for higher clocks with cpu + 2 HD5870 (crappy 750w just for replace my old one ..)
Decent enough though, Lane. Vantage is very Dependant on a solid cpu clock to be sure. That 2nd cpu test is all physics and will spike the core temps. Using HT is a must for a high score here too. For quick runs though don't worry about the cpuVTT being 1.4~1.5. Just be sure to bring it back out of the stratosphere after you're done I think, if it's a good one, your psu is good enough. I ran my Corsair 750 with a more stressful setup than yours probably and no issues at all.
Well a good thing with thoses Gigabyte, they have this little leds system for CPU temp, NB, etc.. when i see it become red, i know i should stop ... Anyway, actually it's just impossible to compete with 980X under vantage and 06. They OC really well, and the 3K gain on cpu test ( 3D06) have a big impact.
He he allright, well im still not really happy with this 930, in general rules i m really lucky with the CPU i got, but not this time ..( i still have my E8600 Q822A435,, incredible batch.. ) will certainly change it for a 950 when i can ( no money to put for a 975 or a 980 right now).. or just give a try to a better mobo ( rampage surely )
I feel your pain Lane... my 930 won't complete a Vantage run with 1.52V running through it when I push the BCLK past 204. The root cause is probably my motherboard (MSI Eclipse SLI) and its woeful vdroop (1.52 > 1.45 under heavy load). The lack of a CPU VTT option in the BIOS doesn't help! Best score I can manage is P34422 @4.315GHz (ORB compare link).
They was a lot of good 920 DO .... but it seems most are unlucky with the 930 DO, there's surely some good batch, but ... look like a lot of bad are running around.. 4.315 is far to be really bad, specially without playing with VTT/QPI i know some who can't go through the 4ghz... This voltage is the first thing you will need for more clocking, i m sure you will go to 4.5ghz+ with a regular board.. The UD3R i use is really a cheap motherboard, the real difference with UD7 or UD5, it's the cooling of the NB and chipset, it's really a budget one, so at the moment you increase voltage, even with 2x120mm who blow on them, the temp goes too far away..
