I'm wondering if anyone else has a GTX 480 on a little bit older system such as a Q9550 or equivalent and what kind of results they are getting in the Heaven 2.0 bench mark and games.

Most of my games run very well everything on max, but its hard to compare most site bench marks with mine considering half of them are using a $1,000 i7-980 with 12 GB of ram, lol. In Heaven 2.0 bench mark I get 53 fps avg at 1680x1050, stock settings(normal tesselation, 4x aniso, no AA, shaders high). Considering that bench mark should be GPU bound, I wouldn't expect to get performance too far below even a much faster CPU like the i7-980, even more so because when I look at CPU useage, only 1 core is 100% while the other 3 are doing almost nothing. My Q9550 is at 3.4Ghz as well, so it should perform pretty decently. Plenty of power, I have 40A dedicated just for my video card on a 850w PWS, temps are in the 70's/low 80's but never even hit 90's. Drivers are latest release and a fresh install of W7. If you have some results and a similar setup please let me know. I do have an older mobo, its a DFI LanParty DK T2RS with the intel P35 chipset, but is 16x PCI-X, although I think its the slighly older 1.0 and not 2.0. However if I recall tomshardware tested and found absolutely no difference between the two since most of the work is done on the card, so little data traffic is on the bus. Anyway, I appreciate the help and input. Thanks.

Indeed a Q9550 would be fine... but overclocking never hurts :eyes: (er I take that back... responsible overclocking never hurts)
