If it is indeed using 6208, it is possible to modify a database to provide voltage control on it. Post result of running MSIAfterburner.exe /i2cd on your system.

The card should arrive early next week, and I will indeed post the results. Thanks for your help, I appreciate the amount of work you put into AB, and I think it's a fantastic tool.

Thanks for helping us out with this, ive been looking all over the net to try and find a way to get my asus 5850 voltage to work with afterburner, its such a great program, and night and day better than asus smart doctor...

Here is my i2cd dump for my card:

Yep, there is uP6208 on bus 6 device 46h indeed. To enable this VRM detection on your hardware add the following text to your hardware profile file
    (.\Profiles\ VEN_1002&DEV_6899&SUBSYS_034E1043&REV_00&BUS_1&DEV _0&FN_0.cfg):

    [Settings]
    uP6208_Detection = 1

THAT WORKED!! Thanks so much Unwinder, you have solved an issue no one else seems to have been able to!

Quick question, the voltage regulation is in increments of +1, +2, etc

In what voltage increments is it increasing each time?

Peek into context help for core voltage text field:

    Core voltage
Displays the current master GPU core voltage. Depending on graphics card model the voltage can be represented either excplicitly or as an offset added to base voltage. Signed values represent the offset whilst unsigned values represent absolute voltage.

    Hints:
    - Voltage control is locked by default due to safety reasons. If you understand and accept the risks of using voltage control you can unlock it in advanced application properties.
    - When GPU settings synchronization mode is enabled in <General> tab in advanced properties, any changes applied to the master GPU are also applied to all similar GPUs installed in the system.
    - Voltage control is available on limited set of graphics card models equipped with programmable voltage regulation module. Please refer to documentation to get full list of graphic card models supporting voltage adjustments.
    - You may click this field to directly type in a desired voltage.
    - You may disable user interface tooltips via <User interface> tab in advanced properties.

Other words, setting boost to +10 will add 10mV to default 2D/3D voltages.

    great, thanks again, Unwinder!

I just want to make sure, so I dont fry my card playing with the voltages..

The stock voltage on my card is 1.118v, so +1 would be 1.119v and +10 would be 1.128v?

Correct. The only exception is that minimum step can be above 1mv, peek into readme to find out exact value for 6208 (should be around 25mV as far as I remember).

Thanks for providing this fix. It is great to be able to adjust voltage in Afterburner for my card.

One request, though. The voltage offset is limited to +100mV. Since the base voltage is 1.181v, that limits us to 1.281v max. While this does allow for a significant overclock, it limits how far you can push your card.

At 1.281V, my card maxes out at 900/1165.

With SmartDoctor, I can run it up to 960/1200 by applying additional voltage (I forget the exact number, I was just watching temps and stopped when they hit 85C).

Is there any way to allow a larger voltage offset in Afterburner?

    Hi Unwinder

Wondering if you might be able to advise me on how i can get voltage adjustment working on my card.

    i have the following card

    SAPPHIRE Vapor-X HD5850 2GB GDDR5

I can't seem to keep it stable above 775/1195. And i havn't been able to adjust the voltage on it using msi afterburner.

What information would you need in order to advise me.

    cheers

    Steffan

No, that's not a kind of modification you can do on your side yourself, sorry. Personal limits for each supported model are encoded in our hardware database and defined from cooling and different PCB components quality. Allowing these things to be edited by end user means greater RMA and unhappy users posting risk.

I can only help you if you know exact model of your VRM chip and if this chip is already instaleld on any reference/MSI card and supported by Afterburner core. In this case simple database settings override (like in the post above) can help you. Otherwise, you should use Sapphire own software. Adding new Sapphire specific VRMs support to Afterburner is a complete "no go", sorry.

It was repeated a lot of times that we don't provide voltage control support for non-reference design non-MSI graphics cards. It is MSI software product, not Gigabyte one. Help yourself by searching the forum please!

Hi Unwinder, I added this text to the correct profile file with AB 1.6.0, and had voltage control the same as saiyanzzrage for my Asus 5850 DirectCU.
However, I have just updated to version 2.0.0, and although the text is still present in the profile folder, I no longer have voltage control. Is there anything that I can do?

Thank you in advance for your time!

yeah thats i what was going to ask is there has command to unlock more voltage however even memory voltage with thesis v2 cards ace they where released the same time ace the matrix cards and they allow gpu and memory voltage adjustments. Hello
The problem in the forums it is to find someone that gives some infos on a simple question.
I asked a question what type of regulator are installed on this model His 5850 725/1000.
What are the manual manipulations that I must change in a file for this model.
    An example.

    (.\Profile \ VEN_1002&DEV_6899&SUBSYS_034E1043&REV_00&BUS_1&DEV _0&FN_0.cfg): [Settings] uP6208_Detection = 1

Thank you for all the help that you will be able to brings to me.

Don't think that this forum is the best place to find any info about non-reference design voltage control implementation of HIS card, sorry.
