OK fellow AMD fans check this out.

    1055T Oc'd

    http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?t=249606

So this got me thinking here if a 1055t is able to hit as high as 4.7 on air.

I can only image what the 1090t will do.

But here's a question I have I am currently on the 965 C3 is it worth it to pay the extra 100 bucks for the 3.2 or go with the 2.8?

Here my dilemma stock the 965 is 3.4 and the 1090t is 3.2 and the 1055 is 2.8. Would it be better to get the 1055 over the 1090, or go with 1090 due to only losing 200Mhz off the CPU clock?? :bang:

I would like to know what the hell the ambient air temperature is in the room that this person is OCing in???

I've got a Phenom II 965 that's OCed to 4Ghz @ 1.46V and I've got a huge heatsink and I'm using Artic Silver MX-2 thermal compound and my idle temps are 49-50C.

My ambient room temperature is about 75F.

Nice chip and nice overclock. It´s good to see AMD getting their act together.

I think you should save yourself 100 bucks and simply buy and overclock the 1055 to 3.6 or 3.8.

If what they are finding about turbo being unable to be disabled that should be factored in as well though. Upping multipliers is easier than upping the base clock when factoring in Turbo. I'd say 4GHz with 4.4GHz turbo is more likely to be stable compared to 4GHz on the 1055 and watching it hit 4.7 during turbo.

will the facination with higher GHZ lower when software is written for mutli thread / multi core ?

well, combination of both is optimal, but clockspeed will indeed be less of a factor. Just look at GPUs, they are clocked quite low but can still process way more than a CPU could on parallel workloads.

Ok here's the the problem well not really a problem. the reason I asked about which cpu to go with is because I use Cinema 4d and After Effects. Now from what I am getting here is that it seems everyone is leaning towards the 1055. With it being 2.8. Now with C4D and AE wouldn't I need the CPU speed to help render out my animations and my video with C4d and AE.

I guess what I am asking is wouldn't the 1090T be better due to it having a higher cpu speed and should clock higher then the 1055T. and wouldn't having a higher stock speed be better with Application like these.

Very nice, AMD have done a good job with these CPU's.

needs gaming benchies! Really dont care about 3D rendering, nor WinRAR benchmarks.

I know Windows rating doesnt mean much, but it only scored the 1055T 7.6? This AthlonII X4 is 7.4.

AMD's definitely trying to undercut Intel instead of chasing the performance crown like it did before '06.

Being a highly affordable hexacore product, Thuban would definitely be a force to reckon with as it's the only hexacore product that can be purchased for the masses.

    4.7Ghz? On air?!
    Amazing chip...
The core temp is only 77F when it drops down to 800mhz/core.

Im confused because someone commented on that forum that the PhenomII,even the new X6 cant go past 4Ghz because its HT cant go past 230Mhz,this must not be true ey ? lol.
