Democracy only ever existed in ancient Greece, where the populace (adult males only) voted directly on matters of (city) state. This isn't democracy, this is parlementarian dictatorship, where the right and left all vie to outdo eachother when it comes to state terrorism. We only need to look at New Labour (new extreme form of Thatcherism) to see that neither side can be trusted. What's ludicrous is that the world criticises China, a country that has repeatedly admitted it censors, executes, carries out gross crimes and yet pretends their system of imperialism, abuse, censorship (blocking of websites, strict enforcement of political correctness, cesuring of its citizens, rendition and indefinite incarceration in the name of some fictitous war) is better. There will, hopefully, come a time when the sheep wake up and execute our leaders and start afresh. Unfortunately revolutions eat their own children, but this is no better than a dictatorship, shrouded in pretty words and the ability to vote in rigged elections. While this may not be enforcable, the fact that it's got through shows our politicians are corrupt scum and an end needs to be put to that.
This. It's not that all the elections are rigged, it's that all the parties are controlled by one entity and thus you are voting in the same party regardless of name or promises upon election. It's true in most modern countries, the USA and UK being prime examples of this. In England, this is why you'll never see the BNP head becoming Prime minister, or anyone else other than Tories, Labour or Conservative. They are the big three, all controlled by the same people. Theres proof all over the place if you know where to look.
about bloody time i say, i left the pc scene last year and game on consoles now,it is a fact that most people with pc's download something that that they should pay for,to many pirates...even i did it when i was a pc geek.i see nothing wrong with what the govenment are doing, for a start it will mean more money the the companies ,which in turn means more tax for the govenment, i am sick and tired of people getting something for nothing all the time, all this BS about try before you buy,i am glad its all going to end for you muppets.
I would have disagreed, but maybe you're right. You made me see the light. The legal users of BT need to go away because a lot of people use the service in a way we don't see fit.Sites such as Rapid Share can go away too because some people upload porn and music. That needs to change. We need government to regulate the internet.Maybe a business needs to use file hosts because email can't handle files larger than X, but you know, there's porn on there, so we'll just block access. If you hadn't changed from gaming on the PC to consoles, We wouldn't have to restructure the entire internet, but that's cool.Centurie no longer uses his computer, so the freedom of millions of users becomes irrelevant. I'm glad I read your post, because before, I would have cherished freedom of speech.Blindly, the sharing of information would have mattered to me- but now I see it right; it's only about whether you game on a PC, or a console.Because the internet is only about gaming. Silly me.
Do disappointing you're not supporting the death of open source, just because it doesn't 'affect' you. Torrents are doing miracles for the spread of free programmes around the world and in your ignorance you don't realise that WoW uses P2P to download. But hey, you don't use Linux, so let's just kill the spread of Linux through killing torrents and all those artists who allow the free download of their music, because it's the only way they can promote themselves, and become hits, like Rage Against The Machine, need to bow down to the power and might of the corporations. Well done to you, please, don't leave your cave.
Well this is an interesting one. If they require the ISPs to monitor what you are doing in whilst online with the intention of enforcing this unenforceable law then for quite a few folk that will go against the TOS that most of us will have signed when we took out our contracts with our ISP. I know for a fact that the agreement I signed said that my ISP would and does not monitor activity whilst online. For them to follow this law they would have to change the terms that I signed up to, I wonder what the legal position on that would be? Is this guy a regular or just a troll, the lack of basic understanding about a). Taxation and b). Why people download seems to suggest a lack of understanding. a. This government wastes more cash on mis management, quangos and non jobs than they could ever possibly raise through taxation of movies, music and software that would otherwise be pirated. b. If people can't pirate, they would logically go to the next cheapest local for their products which would be sites like play.com which are based in tax free locations and thus DO NOT contribute anything towards the governments cash funds c. People who pirate will NOT, buy something just because they can't pirate it, they simply won't buy it at all. This is boring to be honest, it requires the ISPs to play ball and as many have already stated they are not will to incur the price and performance hit required for them to monitor the activities of the millions of users the various ISPs have and due to the very nature of the internet for every ISP that plays ball their will be an ISP who will set up outside the country and be outside the law.
It will be ignored, it makes absolutely no sense at all for an ISP to 'want' to follow this 'Bill' in a business sense. It means ISP's will need to spend more capital on stopping these so called 'file sharers' who in fact created that captial in the first place Geting bored of these morons introducing laws that slowly take away freedom.
Damn, we are currently getting 20/5 for about $33. For 60 I think my isp offers 20/20. I hate the unfair price/speeds ratio some companies do here in the US, total rip-off.
