In the UK, found Amazon are very cheap, but don't have a big enough catalogue for MP3. Anywhere else you suggest?

    Must be DRM free!

    Wrong thread lol:bang:

Nowhere at the moment, but if a site offered high resolution downloads at a decent price, then i would be all over it.

I have only ever used iTunes to buy music online although Spotify has now superceded that entirely for me. The only time in recent memory that I've bought something off iTunes was when I bought the Uncharted 2 soundtrack as I wanted to listen to it and it wasn't (yet?) on Spotify.

I buy CDs off of ebay... Lossless, and quite cheap. If you buy many from a single person you can get them as cheap as one or two dollars with 50 cent shipping...

For the price of a few crappy lossy downloads you can get an entire album. :)

I use Audacity and LAME. ;) If ya know what I mean. That's for really hard to find stuff that can be listened to online.

Well, that and a locally owned record store that can get pretty much anything.

pay 1$ to a friend and borrow his cd then rip it at home, this way it's legal :D you paid so it's ok, alternatively give him a beer.

lol cheapness taken to the next level.

    ^Still not legal technically.

Two people are now listening to the same album and the record company has seen no return from you. In fact its even worse because you paid him to distribute. :p

But in all reality they won't hunt you down for that. They are more concerned with the 95% of illegal downloads that are taking place than exchanges between a few friends. Mostly because it takes a longer time to exchange physical copies rather than download thousands of songs in a day... :)

Edit: was supposed to be under Year's post, but others got in the way lol

Comparatively, I noticed that iTunes Store is low quality as far as songs go.

But I usually......I don't even know how I get songs. But they are always somehow on CD. and I rip as 320kbps MP3s with WMP or iTunes.

I'm with you on this one. The only music I buy as digital downloads tends to be electronic music and Beatport is the best for this by far. Excellent selection of drum and bass, dub step and electronica. Other genre's I tend to buy full albums on CD & vinyl so yeah, no downloads there.
