New ATI Catalyst 10.4b ?

I find this driver.

No. It's showing 8.730 cos you still have Cat10.5beta installed. So installer thinks Driver is up to date.


It is strange driver. I've not installed it yet.
Some inconsistancies.

Driver version is 8.721.3-100382a-098410E-A. Funny date. ie 10-03-82a.
Ah the date is a typo. It should be 8.721.3-100328a-098410E. ie 10/03/28a not 82a. Its also missing '-ATI' at the end. Just has '***82a-A'
Also it will identify itself as Cat10.4b. HKR,, Catalyst_Version,,"10.4b". This is also unusual as ATI don't include the Cat Reg entry until release. Unless this is the Final 10.4b Preview driver (like they did with 10.3) which will be released before 10.4WHQL.
The Application profiles included are the Cat10.3 set from Rage3D. Not the newer profiles released earlier today at Rage3D.

 

That CCC info means it's an OpenGL4 driver.
2D - same as 10.3b
3D - newer than 10.3b and less than 10.5beta
OpenGL newer than Cat10.3OpenGL4

It may well be Cat10.4b

 

is this out Cat10.5beta i have not install this Cat10.5beta i make new clean windows 7 install and then install this 10.4b

Oh, finally :wanker: We all have been waitin for this - Metro 2033 optimizations! Up to +6 solid fps in most laggish scenes. That means no more jumps from 26 to 32, just solid 32. I'm so pleased that I didn't test anything else :banana:

 

Don't mean to be an ungrateful bastard or anything, but what's with all these drivers popping up from unknown users with links to megaupload etc? Isn't it possible to hide all sorts of things in driver install packages? That's an honest question because I really have no idea, but to install drivers I have to disable a few security features.

 

Personally i never install drivers if they are not on AMD site, so i pass and wait they show up there.

the 10.5 is better, althought it has older CCP when i tried to install it the Video Convertor was not shown on the menu, so they are different alright.

 

no 10.5 sucks in comparison with these 10.4b...this is the thing...great drivers..!!

finally i can proudly play metro2033 with good fps even in max with most intense scenes..!! yeah...all games i gained 1-10 fps...that's the spirit..i cant wait for the official thing though..!! download people...highly recommended:nerd:

 

They are exacly the "Same Drivers" just with Different Control Center version,,,, there shouldn't be obvious or really any different between them. :bang:

 

no no no...they are not the same in anything...they are better...first time there is no scene i fall under 25-35 in metro2033....these are 8.721.3 and the others are 8.730(superbeta)...not even close...these are nearest to 10.4 official, the others are miles away from 10.5officials...and they updated well in almost everything from the other packages all...the others had no stable update..missinformed in other words...and i repeat i gained fps from the 10.5(8.730) and 10.3b...

 

This 10.4b driver is a fan-made fake. D3D driver is from 10.3b & OGL is from Opengl4 preview. DLL & INF files are hex-edited to looke like newer versions. FAKE FAKE FAKE

 

fake or not it runs metro 2033 better than the 10.5beta

 

i have great news...GRAND THEFT AUTO IV, also plays smoother, almost no lagging(not perfect yet but smoother than ever, also crysis and crysis warhead little fps gain)...yeah...i started fall in love with this driver set...come on ati throw out the official april's thing..!!
