For any Guru's loving it I know I am, 5040x1050:- What games do you guys like on 3 screens? Post your screen shots!
I'll be setting up an impromptu ghetto eyefinity tonight...Is it better to have the monitors at sharp angles or what? Like, is it better to have it kinda surround you, or just be like one big field of view?
My Eyefinity Setup now running 10.3a with bc, 6048x1200.... so far im playing: Dirt 2, NFS:Shift, FSX, Grid, Half Life 2, Bad Company 2, Civ 4, HAWX, few vids of the rig in action.... http://www.youtube.com/user/Rogue071
depends on the game and how much you like nausea..... when i first set mine up i had them at about 45 degrees. but my eyes were going nuts. it just wasnt right having them at too steep of an angle. it screwes up your vision and made me nausious playing games. 30-ish degrees seems to be the recommended angle. i made a little template and put themn at about 33 degrees. much better now.
I tried quite a few screen setups, and i found that if you had the side screens pointing in slightly you got a horrible fish eye effect. The absolute best way for me was to have all 3 24" monitors completely flat and level with each other No other method i tried (portrait etc) was anywhere near as good
to each their own, but about 30 degrees is the angle most mentioned. having them all flat pretty much erases immersion factor. if they're all flat you might as well just play games on your 50" hdtv and save your money. i suppose if youre playing rpg games it wouldn't be so bad, but with driving or fps games it matters.the whole point is to simulate part of your peripheral vision, and of course to play at a higher resolution.
Wish I had some nice monitors like those, the ones I'm using I got on the cheap Once your actually playing and focusing on the centre screen, you don't notice anything apart from the sides screens rushing past in your periphs. It's pretty kool.
Personally i don't find that. Battlefield Bad Company 2 feels a lot more immersive having the screens flat, and using the side ones for peripheral vision. You don't get a fish eye effect, i couldn't stand the warped look you got from having the screens turned in at the sides. Totally different from just having one large monitor (i came from the Dell 30"). Dragon Age looks amazing as well Each to their own though! I just hope ATI fix the HORRIBLE problems they are having with Tri/Quadfire using Eyefinity Picture of mine :-
I try and have my setup so all the screens are a similar distance away from my eyes. They are at an angle that is really dictated by where I have them. I have yet to find a game that is not better than on a large single screen. Have used both a large tv (was not really very good could see pixles) and have tried a 30" as well. Eyefinity is MUCH better. I was looking at getting a couple of 480gtx for surround at least until the reviews came out. A little BC2 eyefinity action from the beta http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ibww_NNHCbM
So I got my DP-VGA adapter and it's totally defective and the screen is yellow. Hurray. Works though, only cost 8 dollars. Also, screens are three different sizes, so kind of ruining the experience. Oh yeah and the yellow.
Yes it's a passive adapter, but this one is just defective. All screens are yellow no matter what cable I use or even if it's the only screen. Actually setting it up was fairly easy, I've got it up right now, the adapter is just giving me a yellow screen. And yeah, passive VGA adapters work. Just not passive DVI ones.
Passive VGA supposedly works up to a certain resolution, many users seem to have got it working. Others report added issues. Theres a very informative section about eyefinity on widescreen gaming forum:- http://www.widescreengamingforum.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=64
I think I prefer 3x1 flat. But yeah damn BC2 supports Eyefinity really well. Much better than Call of Duty 4 for sure.
yea bc2 works great. biggest issue with some games is the fov. some games that have a crappy fov you can make changes to and it fixes it. even MW2 does not support eyefinity natively. same with bioshock 2. you have to use widescreen fixer and have an unaltered exe file....its just ****ty programming.
