Just wondering how much data passes out of the average Gurus house hold. Lucky for me Comcast has a nifty usage meter.

    December 2009- 12GB
    January 2010- 48GB
    February 2010- 59GB
    March 2010- 67GB

Around January I started running game servers from my house. :p

5 to 10gb per day, but the end of the month can be 100-200gb depending how many games i buy that are digitally downloaded, youtube videos, upload/download pix/videos/mp3s to and from friends, rapidshare, a couple of torrents (rare movies hard to find).

500MB every two to three days.
I don't download much and check websites constantly.

I think around 100GB a month. Sometimes more, sometimes less. I download a lot of TV shows and such. More than once I've downloaded a game from Steam, not played it, and deleted it almost right after (I wish I could make up my mind!).

Now if you'll excuse me it's a very nice day out and I think I shall go bask in the sun with some rum.

    Yarrrr.

i just downloaded 20+ GB in the last 24 hrs, and thats just me, there are 5 pcs on my home but all of them are used just to web surfing or watching videos on youtube so my guess is around 80 - 100GB per month.

Thanks for the suggestion. It's a little more than what I was looking for. I'm looking for something basic just to give me U/D totals used per day/week/month. I have no need to limit or control bandwidth since I have Fios.

wired network meter does a great job. the author also has a wireless variant.

Yeah I'm using that one now, just wish it kept an ongoing count of bandwidth totals.

When I'm at home, 20GB, when I'm away my sister uses 1-2GB.

Last night I was 'testing' my Uni ISP though and did 73GB from 3am to 11am. :D

Upload or download combined? Or just download?

Having ADSL my upload is limited, but I manage to upload around 250GB a month. Download is probably around twice that at 4-500GB, with variations of course.

    10 Mbps, so...

    10 Mbps * 60 * 60 * 24 * 30 = 3.08990479 terabytes per month.

    :p
