I just can't wait for some competition so prices will start coming down.

same here would love to get the 5870 but price is too high

as soon as nvidia puts out there card ati will probably lower the price down.

right now they could have there price high becuase they where the only dx11 card out there and people would pay the price to have it.

but now nvidia is coming out with one. it will be lower to compete

Exactly, and I'm sure it is more than 10% what is a stock 5870? 820? more like 25-30% I wont even mention the 5970. Fermi.. WHAT? If the remours about heat turn out true they are going to be bad clockers. Just overclock your ATI cards (liek we all do anyhow) and forget about gen1 fermi. lol

  4. yeah its more than 10% overclock in general, like for example my cards are stock at 725/1000, and quite happy at 1000/1200 which is like a 38% clock speed increase - with stock cooling.

5870's run at 850/1200 - most are overclocked to 1000+/1250-1300

These cause issues with openGL games like doom 3 making flashing textures a blinking huds. I sure other openGL games will have somewhat issues that I saw as well.

I'll wait for some WHQL drivers with support these break my Uni project :bang:

    EDIT:
Found out its because GLEW isnt updated yet, so it would work if GLEW gets updated.

So these drivers really improve performance considerably ? 40% improvement in Metro ? Can anyone else confirm these results ?

Quakelive has texture / lighting problems with this driver and Quake 1 still has terrible performance. I didn't notice any performance increase in metro, but I'm probably held back by CPU too much.

So apart from quake 1 and 2 and jedi knight 2 being completely unplayable and Doom 3 and half life having major issues these OpenGL drivers work well?

No idea why ATI released these if they are not working with any of the OpenGL games people still actually play.

Regarding DirectX Performance they are the same as the 10.3a.
