    Hello,

well i think my 22" samsung is slowly dying. When i turn it on there are horizontal lines across the screen and it fells like when the monitor heats up the lines go away...strange i know. So i am thinking to buy a new 24" monitor. But there are so many monitors around now i just dont know which one to buy...in time i will go xfire and my price range is around 250€ for a new monitor. i was looking at Samsung SyncMaster P2450H for 214€ and i would like to know what you fellow gurus think about this. is this a good buy ?

    thank you, tattoer

Have you checked your graphics card with another monitor just to be sure it is the monitor ?

No not yet, but i am almost sure its the monitor, because if i turn the comp. on and later (5-10min) i turn on the monitor the lines are there. Will try my old 19" monitor just to be sure...i dont even know where i stack it :)

I now have a HP 2509M and find it is a bright, led side light unit.

I surf/game/work with it and my 22 inch samsung.

The Dell 2209WA runs for around $300USD when not on sale and features a sleek E-IPS panel, giving you far better color gamut than the TN panel-based solutions above. I'm personally waiting for a 24" full HD refresh. Still, 6 bpc + dithering usually suffices for most users and amateur graphics designers.

Why are you limiting yourself your coming from a 22' Samsung. I think you need to pamper yourself since prices are soo soo low on LCD monitors.

Get a 27" for around 300 bones. www.tigerdirect.com Also if you have a near by costco's see what they have, u might pick up the display for lower price. I was there weeks ago and there was a last Samsung 27" monitor left, they were selling display for 320 bucks.

Anyhow I think if your willing to spend 250 dollars , I think you should put in that extra 50 or 100 bucks and buy a 27 inch. You will gain 5 inches from your old monitor and a high resolution 1920x1200 .. youll enjoy it greatly and thank me later. hehe

I would have to recommend the Samsung 23" high definition monitor, i think it is the 2343bwx, resolution of 2048x1152, it is great and cheap only like 200 dollars, you can get two for 400 bucks, the quality is great too.

I have a LG and have no problems love it. It's got a 2ms response time, but I don't game on it, use my old AOC to game on with a 15ms response, still find it fine. Anyway, my friend just bought a BenQ LED back lit for £150 so that fits your budget if a store near you has it.
