    I am running Catalyst 10.2, Afterburner 1.5; and cannot change the voltage.

    It is stuck at 1.125v.

    Is this a bug? :banana:

    Yes. I can change it to 1.35v max; but it doesn't seem to affect the voltages.

    I am experiencing the same.. Just pulled the Lightning out for a quick cascade play around bench... and I changed the voltages in afterburner, but nothing changes when monitoring with the multimeter...

    Definitely something wrong here.. On the newest 1.5 version and the readme says its supported...????

    Also tried it in a couple machines... thought I was going crazy... Same issue no matter what box I am using... I need to overclock this beast... its killing me..

    Back to my modded Ref card :(

    From what I found out, it's an issue with the AMD bios that comes with the card and Afterburner 1.5.

    Afterburner 1.5.1 should fix the problem.

    Should be out very soon..

    We will release Afterburner 1.5.1 tomorrow morning (TPE time), sorry for the delay. AMD gave us last minute BIOS update on all 5800 series BIOS which affect voltage adjustment.(should affect every AIB with similiar feature).

    Anyway, we fix *almost* everything. In Afterburner 1.5.1, all MSI R5800 series will work just fine!

    Tried the Afterburner 1.5.1 but still no effect of the voltage.
    If I set it to 1.3V, u see it's jumping to 1.3 in the graph, but when i start for example Kombuster it goes back to 1.162V. When it's in 2d mode the voltage goes back to 1.3V.

    using cat 10.3

    Please tried Afterburner 1.6.0 Beta 4 and later version, and use "Capture Voltage Default" function to build customized database. My guess is BIOS of your lightning is still old one, but it doesn't matter. Just use Capture Voltage Default and capture the right 3D voltage and address, it can be fixed in seconds!

    Try to read and follow the instruction _carefully_: Succesful capture is reflected by "Voltage defaults captured" hint message displayed in monitoring window. If that's too complex and you cannot follow it accurately, just enable "Force constant voltage" in safety properties.

    yep, enable "force constant voltage" is working, saw succesful capture in monitor window :)

    Let's see what it can do.

    Tnx

    @Garrett_wu
    Is the newest bios much better than the old one I use?
    Is it possible to increase the voltage beyond 1.35V?

    Yes, new bios fix the voltage address issue of 5870 Lightning, right now only 5830 is affect by varied voltage address issue. Also new bios change some memory timing, it slightly increase memory overclocking.

    No, you can't increase voltage beyond 1.35v on Lightning. 1.35V is pretty high for air-cooling now.

    Sorry for bumping up this thread but do you know if there's any new bios for the MSI 5870 Lightning ?

    I just got one here and it comes with this bios:
