I have a problem with my video card, after I install the driver software for it the screen suddenly turns black then goes back to normal, after a few seconds it turns to black again and everything on the screen that was previously opened freezes and start to appear all sort of artifacts.

Is my video card dead or the problem is the driver?
Every version of driver I install makes the same problem.

This is what I'm talking about:

    and here are the specs:

I've tried everything, reinstall windows, video drivers, motherboard drivers and still the same problem.

    thanks in advance.

Have you cleaned out the fan lately? That temp seems a bit high just for idling

If that doesn't work the only other thing I can think of is the vram may be faulty

Maybe someone else will chime in with an opinion

if you get artifacts in bios (before logo "windows xp") then you should bake ->
http://forums.guru3d.com/showthread.php?t=310810 - ressurect to fix videocard died. this solution is better and excellent!!

8800gts640 still works about almost 1 week after fixed. :D

Electrolytic capacitors and yep it looks like they do have them according to google. He'll probably pop them off in the oven.
