If this comes to Canada, I'd buy into it (consider it won't break the bank for me).

I doubt they will come here.

If so, I am willing to pay $60 for Google ISP. rather paying the monopoly
    crap we have here.

Hooray, so you'll be able to use your Google ISP to connect to Google Gmail via Google DNS and use your Google Nexus-One to connect to your Google Buzz social networking site to send pictures of your house to friends from Google StreetView!

Though I'm not a particular fan of any of the big industry figures Google's all-encompassing way of doing business is getting a little - irksome. Why is it Apple gets bitched about for having a closed-ecosystem of it's products, Microsoft gets bitched about because it's cool to bitch about Microsoft and so on, yet Google is trying to get in to every aspect of life and everyone seems to be fine with it? They've come out with some really odd remarks about their treatment of privacy and such, I just don't understand why so many people still see them as "the golden boy".

    This is so epic.
I'd definitely give into a google ISP.
At the time, my charter is horrible, it's expensive, and the speeds aren't competitive.
Luckily i found out because of my grand-fathered contract, i do NOT have a bandwidth cap of 100gb a month like a lot of new people do.

My speeds are 10mbit down, 1 to 1.5mbit up.
If i had a fiber line, i'd host my own game servers for sure.

I'm on 10Mbit full duplex ATM as it's free and I'm too cheap to fork over 100SEK a month to get 100Mbit, though every time one of my MMOs spawn a multi-gigabyte patch or download I'm cursing myself.

1Gbit would be nice but the practical usability wouldn't be much higher unless you have professional needs for streaming massive amounts of data.

I'd certainly enjoy testing it though. :)

The monopoly crap we have here is about to raise the bandwidth charge from $25 on top of the bill to $50 starting this March, meaning you should cancel before whenever your next billing cycle is. They can go eat a bag of deep fried dicks, I'm not paying such retarded amounts for their 3rd world country speed internet. I'll switch to any other garbage, it's not like they offer fast speeds for the crap-ton they're charging anyway.

All you need is a working sewage line and hey presto!

PS: There is no such thing as PS in word processed text. It's called edit, insert text or backspace. :D

I tired of having to pay for cable television I never watch just so I can get some decent internet.

Just like with computer parts, with more competition, the consumers win.

with exception Walmart's motto is not Don't be Evil

I think that should be "ALL your T-base are belong to US" [mean Technology Base] because Google is in almost every software category.

Nexus Phone! And now they are making there own unnecessary OS going and going into the ISP! AHhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!hahahahahaha!

I'm not liking Google's privacy record. I really don't think I'd like them as my ISP from a privacy standpoint.

Google might be in a lot of different categories, but pretty much the only thing I use from them on a daily basis is their search engine. I have a Gmail account, but that is barely used. That's all I got from them. And if you're worried about their search engine then I recommend you just stop using it. They don't really know anything about me other than I search for some random stuff much of the time... and that I like porn. But what guy doesn't? I wouldn't usually use this as an argument, but since it's about the internet which is a rather public place then I feel this applies. What do you have to hide? Unless you're trying to figure out how to destroy the Pentagon or assassinate the president I don't really think Google cares about your life like that. They want money, that's it. Might be different if you're an important person, but I feel that if you are in that position you should be taking some security precautions anyway.
