    hi gurus!

i'm trying to find a good overclock 24/7 for my i7 920. now i'm running:

    b clock: 172 mhz
    cpu ratio: 21
    Dram: 1379 mhz
    Cpu Voltage: 1.22500
    Cpu PLL: 1.81592
    QPI/Dram: 1.2000
    IOH Voltage: 1.11341
    IOH PCIE Voltage: 1.51
    ICH Voltage: 1.11
    ICH PCIE Voltage: 1.11

    My temps are:
CPU: 30°-32° idle max 70° (prime max heat)
NB: 50° idle 67°-70° while gaming
    SB: 42° idle - 50° while gaming

With this configuration i managed to play even 3-4 hours, but when running prime95, after 1 hour or so, the screen become black. i've raised the cpu voltage to 1.29 but the problem still occur. So i think it's a NB fault... raising the ICH Voltage make the system a bit more stable but the NB temp exponentially increase (70° idle at 1.20 v).

i know there is something i'm missing :bang: can you help me figuring it out?

ps: sorry for my bad english

what do you guys think of a cpu voltage of 1.26 and uncore 1.32 for 24/7 use? i've read the maximum intel deem safe is 1.55 v for the cpu and 1.35 for the uncore, can you confirm that?

The Uncore can handle more than 1.35V. I've always thought both the core and Uncore had the same "danger zone" of 1.5V+.

1.32V on the uncore is well within the limits for a 24/7 voltage.

You Vcore is just fine, too.

    Are you ratios set properly?

if Im correct. QPI at 36X uncore 16X and Dram 8X

D0 should get up to 4Ghz easy.

    Thanks everyone

@ottoyu34: i've exactly the same ratios you said.

@Pyro the Dragun: ok so i can push a little bit further with the voltages.

now i'm testing 3.7 ghz @ 1.3 for the vcore (not optimized yet) 1.88 PLL and 1.35 for the uncore. everything seems to be fine for now :p

Asus boards generally like even multi's if I remember so 18, 20 and so on and Gigabyte like odd multi's.

My i7 has 1.31v running through it and its fine, just get a better cooler and you should be set.
