OMG so those games listed are only for nvidia users.

I see it's an option to make those games that are normally in 2d into 3d.

I assumed they were just like avtar the game, when u select 3d option it will render everything in double just like how it's seen in the movies.

I now understand why those nvidia glasses are so ex. Cos other than avatar i supposed the other games need some special hardware to render them in 3d and they don't render it in 3d u need 3rd party hardware.

Thanks. i see old games like AOE3 in 3d too.

Nvidia 3D is a million times better.

Well, there is that NVidia 3D Vision Discover thing.... but that uses anaglyph 3D (i.e red and green glasses and the like). The only types of 3D that are worthwhile are either polarized (like what you generally see in a theater that's showing a 3D movie) which is probably the best, and shutter glasses-based which is what NVidia 3D Vision, and also what Sony is using for it's 3D TV's as far as i'm aware.

and with the NVidia 3d glasses... you're not just getting the glasses (which by the way have a built-in battery to power the shutters).... but you also get a transmitter that plugs into a USB port, and gives you the ability to control the depth of the 3D effect.... and i believe something else comes with it, but not sure.

pretty much. NVidia has a different set of video drivers for people using 3D Vision.

btw are these nvi 3d drivers able to render non 3d graphics?

Cos i believe ppl aren't going to want to play every game all the time with bulky glasses on and i wonder if they need to go thru the hassle of installing and uninstalling 3d drivers and regular drivers.

yea, they can do non-3d graphics as well. It's just that those drivers also include the required drivers for 3D Vision.

And the glasses aren't really bulky. They use a small rechargable battery that's built in, and otherwise look rather cool. I've seen the Sony 3D TV's, and they use glasses that are almost identical to the ones NVidia has for 3D Vision... and they're in no way, shape, or form, uncomfortable.

    hey thanks for the info.

Well i'm unlikely to get them since i don't have the best nivdia gpu. I have the 9800gx2 and it cannot handle the newer games and driver installation and buying and all of the hassle.

Trackmania united (and trackmania nations - the free version of it) have an option to switch to the old style 3d with the red and blue glasses. Not sure how well it works tho cos i've never tried it.

Anaglyph 3D is alright at best. it gives the image a bit of a 3D feel..... but you seriously mess up the color quality because of having to wear the red/blue glasses.... and on top of that, when you take the glasses off, you see red and blue for a little while.

Trackmania's sucks. Kudos for the attempt, but the depth is negligible at best.

Anyone remembers MagicCarpet? You could play it in 3D on a normal PC - with 10 fps, yay!

Don't forget that you need a 3D ready (120hz) lcd aswell..

Hey thanks for putting a name to the 2 different 3D rendering.

So nividia uses trackmania to render normal 2D games with no 3D built into them into 3D by wearing those glasses.

Games like avatar don't have trackmania but simply regular 3D that you can probably experience on any screen with any regualr 3D glasses.
