You sure the problem is fixed in the 8.70 driver? ATI_8.70_RC2_Vista_Win7_Jan14 right?

These drivers just did not work for me on Win 7 x64 5970.

I would get a mom.implementation error bollocks every time when trying to start CCC. I reinstalled .net, C++., used driver sweeper and and CC registry cleaner all to just be able to install 10.1 NON hotfix again.

When I tried hotfix again same problem and had to clean and go back again.

The CCC would not work for me with these drivers, complete fail. Going back after good clean 9.12 and 10.1 non hotfix no problem.

You need to read the original 10.1 thread. It's been said over and over and over again, just because it doesnt read 10.1 CCC, doesnt mean the driver is not newer etc.

Just forget about that, as it doesn't even really matter.

As for the AA with Mass Effect 2, I didn't have to rename the exe.

I now have AA enabled through CCC for Mass Effect 2. I have the Steam version so I cant rename the .exe.. atleast I dont know how to anyway. I now have AA in me2 which is good but, its a significant performance hit and possibly buggy. First I had 8x AA with Edge Detect and it ran flawlessly.. then I went into a cut scene and it just crapped out .. Now I am using 4x AA box filter.. and its not as smooth as I would like it to be. Playable but a little annoying. I dont have fraps currently installed so I dont know what the performance hit actually is but without AA my g card never missed a beat.

Gonna pass on this, I don't play Mass Effect nor have CrossFire, but usually I'd install this anyways. However, even these drivers are older than the 8.7s.

This hotfix mainly for those running xfire mode. Single card user may not benefit from it.

i'm using 4x AA box and it's smooth enough, though i don't see any performance improvement.

    Nice. Installed without problems.
    Later on will try it.

AA has to be forced trough CCC, right?

I have the exact same problem with the exact same drivers. Surprisingly, my monitor is also a Dell (S2209W).

Installed fine here, Win7 64 Ultimate.

The drivers really didn't do anything for me. I still need to rename the .exe to UT3, and I'm not getting any higher FPS than what I was with the regular 10.1's.

Installed fine but dirt 2 watersplash bug is still not fixed =S
I installed over the 8.70 RC1, could that be the cause of it?

To make things crystal clear: Is this driver useless for ppl who dont use 2+ ati cards ? If you already have 10.1 installed.
