Yeah I'm not real familiar with Intel stuff anymore, but you've definitely got some kind of throttling issue going on.

Why not disable speed step for now and see what happens?

well since the IBT had finished the test and the orthos test is still going.. its damn obv where speedstep has slowed the CPU down.

Oh yeah, that would be after the IBT was done and the cpu was not under load and it stepped the speed down.

Sorry but ppl on here ar treating me like im some kind of ****ing retard so you lot can expect the same back grrr ¬_¬

The CPU speed was the same on both tests. I guess the speedstep kicked in on the IBT SS.

IBT sends my temps into the stratosphere! I've hit 100C using IBT before...

How about you chill the **** out. You have a problem, your already ****ty CPU performs like an even ****tier one and you don't know why. If someone gives you a suggestion that might help you take it, you try it, and you see if it works, you don't sit and bitch about what you know it's not.

How about you chill out? wtf

Some ppl in this thread were/are talking to me like im some kind of fool and i will NOT stand for it.

Do on to others and all that. If ppl are going to talk to me that way then im going to talk back in the same way.

At the end of the day, IBT is not doing what everyone says it does.

So you start the thread off bashing IBT because you don't get the same results as everyone else...instead of simply asking why that might be,

and you wonder why people flame you :backfire:

So you know what ****ing forget it.

cus at the end of the day my system is stable anyway. IBT can suck my dick

    ???

Are those your results? Air cooled or water?

Have a hard time believing it could be that cool even under water.

No, that's easy to hit. I have a 240 (Just set up my first water-cooled system ever) and my temps at 4ghz 1.51v never go above 47 in IBT.

Air cooled - Tuniq Tower 120 Extreme - TX-3 Paste

4Ghz OC idles around 29c / Cant do proper burn in test as 4Ghz is not stable enough, but plays games without crashing and reaches about 35 - 40c gaming

I believe you guys are being too hard on the OP. Maybe the Linpack is optimized for Core2 and later generation chips only.

Core2/i5/i7 all run significantly hotter when running the IBT as compared to the Prime/Orthos runs, and I didn't see any reason why the Celeron/Pentium would be different. But after running the IBT/Orthos on the lowly E2160 (Pentium) based Dell box I am stuck with at work, I am not so sure (the results posted earlier in the thread). I did not see the usual higher temps with the IBT. In fact, the peak IBT temp was actually lower then the peak Orthos temp. I was going to test an another E2xxx based machine along with a P4 and a PD boxes I have laying around at work today but I couldn't swing it. I may get a chance to do it Tuesday.

Those of you running dual core Celerons/Pentiums, please test and post your results to help clear this up.

My E3200 is OC'ed to 3.2 GHz. I'm seeing results similar to the OP's in Linpack, but my 3DMark06 CPU score is 2804 and my Sandra arithmetic benchmark is 21.75 GFLOPS, just a hair under a stock E8400. All forms of CPU throttling have been disabled in BIOS. Must be something about Linpack and these processors.
