The best of the best I used so far, RivaTuner side bar.

You can have lots of information showing on the side bar, even fan speed control and fps count for graphic.

do you get a performance hit when you enable hardware monitoring?

Depends on your CPU whether can handle them or not.

My CPU run 8 thread. So on idle time, the load is less than 10%. Even while I am playing games, the load is just about 20% overall.

So, it won't caused any performance hit. As this is monitoring the hardware, not benchmarking.

It also depends whether is there any other background task running as well. If you have lots of background task running already, surely you will feel the hit on the performance.

sk8zophrenia, just would like to know where to add the physical memory usage (RAM usage)? I am using the realtemp plug in but can't see where to add it.

in the hardware monitoring setup, open up plugin from the button at the bottom. then from list of active plugin modules, tick the SysMem.dll once u do that, Physical Memory Usage and Page File Usage will appear in Data source, tick 'em both.
