Why don't you just go to the mainboard manufacturer website and look for/download the latest drivers?
Yup. Windows 7 already recognized your motherboard and installed the necessary drivers for it. :)

Thank you. I am glad that Windows 7 is smart. I tried to go to ASUS website and got lost right away what I need to download for my MOBO.
Thank you very much for your reply.

Have a question about Windows update. You know when Windows check for updates it always show you how many important and how many optional updates are available. I always install important ones but ignored optional from NVIDIA for my GTX 295 becaus it wanted to install 191.07 driver and I am happy with 195.62.

There is another optional which is called "Marvell Ukon 88E8056-PCI Gigabit ethrnet controller". I do not even know what it means and what it does. What it this Marvell think anyway? Do you think I should update it or just ignore it too?

    Here's the comparison chart: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windows_7_editions#Comparison_chart

So far, the only thing I couldn't do under Home Premium was setup a network connection via FireWire, which isn't vital by any means. So yeah, Home Premium has virtually all the features you need.

I haven't run into any program that requires XP Mode. It's in the professional edition because a program not running for a business is a reason to stick with XP. For consumers it doesn't matter so much since there would be other programs that do a similar job. Games will not run on it remember.

You still have compatibility mode like in previous Windows.

Well, maybe that "safely remove the device" feature doesn't need to shut down the device under Seven. I don't think it could be a bug, since it's been that way since Vista — I wouldn't be surprised if it turns out to be a bug though. :p

i never safely ejected anything...are we suppose to?
usually when i was done writing/reading from usb drive/hd, i'd just unplug it. why would it be needed to shut it down manually in windows?

Replying to both of you here. Safe removal is a feature that prevents data loss. Say you have a hard disk which write cache is disabled, you won't have to use safe removal. If enabled though, you could lose data if the drive in question is suddenly disconnected or shut down. Happened to me once back in the XP - SP1 days.
