As the saying goes, stoopid people and their money are easily parted...
By what means did you force them to pay? I bet that would be a reeaaally boring story.
I'd be happy to make a donation for your work.
Will the Guru3D guys let you put a donations button on the ATT page?
It would then be up to you as to where the money went.
While ATI are back making great products, I don't know why they need so much bloat in CCC.
I really wish they would take you on as a contractor and make CCC LowBloat Edition :funny:
Sorry for the rant, didn't get enough  for some reason...

Anyway, back to more pressing matters.
My crazy board is now talking reasonably sensibly again.
    .1412
    - 'Set Default Clocks' works normally.
    - Mostly the clocks are matching with CCC.
    - If GPU is set to <157 (default) after 'Apply' ATT displays the requested setting x2.
GPU is actually set to correct requested value, confirmed in CCC.
e.g. Set GPU to 151, ATT GPU slider displays 302.
After this has been done, setting GPU to higher value ATT displays the requested setting /2.
As before, GPU actually is set to correct requested value, confirmed in CCC.
e.g. Set GPU to 510, ATT GPU slider displays 255.
So it would seem to get stuck in a setting that displays a x2 or /2 of the current GPU setting.
Setting back to 'Default Clocks' stops it happening so not a big problem.
Probably don't really need to set the clock less than 157 anyway, just something I noticed.

Never thought I would have so many copies of ATT on my desktop...
    [IMG] :nerd:

Thank you for your work Ray, you make the world a better place.
I would be interested to get a little background on what was required to get it working...

Time to go boot CCC off my system again :hatty:
    cheers, drayzen

    Update
Looks like removing CCC might have broken things a little.
The ATT GPU slider now jumps to /2 every time I try to set an increased clock.

    Still using .4121
It appears that setting opt_use_soft_clk_read=1 gets it working normally.
Same as it was for my 4870.
Just had to set Overclocking Limits to 100% to get enough range.

Does 'Kill ATI HotKey Poller' disable OverDrive?

    I'll test .1425 tonight.
    drayzen

Hi @ all (& especially Ray Adams!),

    just as a sidenote:

H/W clock readout for my good old X1950 Pro got broken somewhere in between build 1411 and the latest 1425 - see attached Pic:

I installed 1425 over 1411 and kept my settings and clock profiles (They're simply called "2D" and "3D"). The clock rates in both profiles are still correctly applied as before (Cross-checked that with Everest). It's only the "Current" displays (& of course the sliders) that are no longer correctly shown.

OS is W7 x64, and ATT is loaded on boot via Task Scheduler on user logon. <-- This is a great workaround, btw!!!

For me, this is just a "cosmetical" problem (as my clock profiles defined in build 1411 are still applied just fine), but I felt that I should share my experience...

    Thx a lot Ray,

    Regards

Thank you for that quick reply, Ray!

I just found out that the previous version I ran was 1412, not 1411 as mentioned above.

I was lucky and haven't dumped the 1412 installation exe yet, so I did some back-and-forth checks between 1412 and 1425 during the last 30 minutes...

Changed back to 1412 and it looked like this - everything works fine:

Installed 1425, and had the same problem again (GPU & MEM read as 0).

Went back to 1412 a third time, everything is fine again... :bang:

Just for completeness, the System Information tab:

    You hit the nail!

Indeed it's set to 1 by default after setup. Changed it to 0 - now 1425 is working just as perfect as every previous build!!! :mhp:

I never took a look at the ini because I didn't expect such a flaw, and ATT just fired up without giving any warning or error.

Anyway, thank you for your efforts - and also for the underway support of the HD5k series in ATT!!!

I'd sure make a donation if I could anywhere find information about it.

    EDIT: Found the information. ;)

    Cheers

Seems to be behaving same as .4121
Still need 'opt_use_soft_clk_read=1' to get a correct read on the GPU.

About the only thing I'd like to be able to do now is turn off ATI's automatic overclocking.
Did a driver only install (no CCC) but it still sets the clocks to 725/1000 when I start folding@home GPU.
I'd like to be able to leave them at stock speed when f@h is running and turn the speed up manually.

    Hello,

i recently got me an HD 5870 btw. an excellent piece of hardware.

Since my last ATI Card i used ATT and was very pleased with what you did Ray.
The same with .1425 iam using now(Win7 64Bit)...OC really works great on the HD5870, but i have one issue with it. Everytime it swiches for 3d to 2d clocks the VDDC is set to 1.065V not to 0.95V i choose in the 2d-profile.

Iam not a power user, so i barley need all the tweaks ATT offers but i hope this helps.

With .1427 i wasnt able to set the Coreclocks, the slider allways jumped back to a lower clockspeed.

Keep up the excellent work man!!!

Are you sure? I didn't change anything between 25 and 27 build for HD5xxx. Only updated .ini file.

    2 295 GTX's 680/1500/2200
Hello all. thank you Ray for creating and supporting such an awesome tool.

I downloaded it and it seems to run fine. the first time I installed it, it gave me an unsigned driver issue (I have windows 7 x64) but it still runs, and seems to work.

I want to use this tool with my 5870 for 2 reasons.

1.) on my Nvidia card I could run my CRT at 1600x1200 w/ 100 refresh rate. for some reason on both the 4870x2 I had and the 5870 ATI's drivers and windows limits me to 85 refresh rate.

I want to force a 100 refresh since I know it works, since it worked on my nvidia cards just fine. Right now on the 4125 version I try to force it and nothing changes. Screen doesnt even blink.

2.) pre-rendered frames. I havent had a chance to touch this yet but I played on my nvidia card on 0, and now my aim seems off probably because ATI is doing 3 ahead, which I will be using this tool to make it 0 again :)

so only 1 problem I have that would make my current setup perfect.

I am will to help you troubleshoot or provide any info you need if it helps fix this possible issue :)
