Well we finally found out why these were tweaking ram settings too tightly for my GTX260, its a driver set intended for developer stations

Oh well, no harm done to my system

QUADRO IS THE ONLY DRIVER FOR XP 64! NO FORCEWARE! GOT IT? YOU CAN NOT INSTALL A VISTA/7 x64 DRIVER IN XP 64!
Download the 191 Quadros for XP 64 and use my modified INF. Dude....

I disagree. I have done this before. I went to their site and download their driver 182.50 and use their INF and the driver suck. End up using the driver 182.5 on this site and it ran freaking smooth. THe laptopvideo2go INF on the 182.50 was a bit different than the one from here.

THe beta driver 191.0 at laptopvideo2go and their INF suck big balls. I install the Win7 64 using the megaupload one from the first page and it much smoother than the one on laptopvideo2go. That's why I want to try the whql version with a different INF and see how that will work.

You will have to test it out yourself since it all depend on the game(s) that you play and the video card that you have. For me the the latest 191.0 on the first page was a bit smoother that doesn't stutter/lag like crazy like the one on laptop site but still it doesn't compare to the 182.50 which is very smooth. But the only problem is that the 182.50 is giving me the "Display Driver nvlddmkm stopped responding, has successfully recovered" error once awhile. Since I play a really fast moving FPS, I can tell the different between drivers.

I don't freaking get it. The driver(s) that work really good for me are the one that's giving me "Display Driver nvlddmkm stopped responding, has successfully recovered" and the one that doesn't give me those errors are the one that either laggy or stutter.

Installing a Nvidia driver on top works out well in some cases.
But what you didn't notice was:
    1. I posted saying that I did the thing you normally don't do.
    2. The guy thanking me is on XP64, which I told him too.
    3. I made a reply to someone else with a quote.

Actually most of the time what happens is you have older versions of some components when you install on top of an old driver. I've seen this so many times on XP, Vista and Win 7. Best practice is to uninstall the driver but even in this case I have seen older components. This is why I use the safe mode and clean it out because I know it's all the current version of components.

I got this driver on with the inf from *******go and it installed great. The powermeizer finally works for my card downclocking it all the time in normal operations. I got a black screen and crashed out of crysis warhead after the level loading was complete with these, but win 7 put it in compatibility mode and now it works just fine. Played crysis warhead for over a hour smooth as whatever the hell is considered to be fairly smooth. Haven't tested it with anything else yet as University takes up just about all of my time....

When I write: I did something that you normally don't do
Where does it say that using uninstall, boot in safe mode and running a driver cleanup isn't a good thing to do?
It just happens that this POS drivers didn't understand what best practice is made of.
So I tried some crazy things, one of them was to install on top of existing drivers, and it freaking worked without any old components left at the places where they shouldn't be.

I tried the clean way with 190.62, which gives me no problem at all.
Is there a way to debug track the installation step by step so I maybe could pinpoint where it goes wrong?

Yes, there are nultiple programs that let you capture/record all actions, that are made by an installer etc. :pc1:

Used them alot in the past for a project at work, can't remember the name tho :nerd:
