Some REALLY odd lag with V-Sync on, like a quarter of a second lag response time, vanishes with V-sync off though which I normally play with so not a problem

Everything else works fine, UT3 crashed once on me on reboot

Nope. Look at the driver version (file version) for nvlddmkm, 8.16.11.8691. That's how it's shown in the nvidia Control Panel under System Information/Components. Ignore the decimal points.

These are a keeper, Enter the Matrix max 60fps, Alpha prime almost max( no bloom ) 60-114fps. These are the 2 games which i always test drivers out.
    Thanks for the drivers. :)

You are pretty false... read it yourself and stop posting such rubbish.
Windows is false, reading 59.94 Hz as 59.00 and not as 60.00.

Many applications are 'confused' and this could lead to problems... especially with some games.
So please... stop posting this nonsense and many thanks to the people, whose tracing this problem.

    You are false, sorry.

The 190-Series are for Cuda2.3 and the 186-Series for OpenGL 3.2.
Other wise round: 190 is the consumer branch, while 186 is the one for workstations.

And finally: the 186.91 WHQL is the most advanced driver from nVidia yet to be known.
190.62 WHQL ist more than 2 weeks older...

So please make a difference between branches, not mumbers.
    Thanks.

Why are NVIDIA still releasing 186.xx drivers for desktops when the newer 190.xx drivers are available? I can understand them using the 186.xx drivers for laptops but surely it creates confusion releasing 186.91 WHQL drivers a couple of weeks after the 190.62 WHQL ones?

For example, how do we know that these 186 drivers don't contain more up to date profiles with more games added, and how do we know that these apparently newer drivers don't contain more fixes for games, etc.?

i totally agree that this is confusing, the 186.91 drivers work better for me than any 190 series, also i always noticed microsoft update drivers were always older than the one's on nvidia site but these seem to be dated after the 190.62's ?

Another set from 186? Cool I guess. I'll post benchmarks, even though nobody appreciates it lol

Will post back here within... 18hrs.

Benchmarked these with 3dmark Vantage and GTA IV. Results are about the same compared to earlier 186's. The average fps in GTA feels a bit higher though with these while playing. Looks like keepers for now.

I agree the 186 series are better than the 190's.

Some people appreciate it like myself. Maybe we just aren't the ones being the most vocal about it. Its guys like you that help make me decide if I go with a driver update or not. Thanks for the effort.

Folding@home gpu client is running much better on these than 186.82. Performance is way up (~600 ns/day now compared to ~400 before) and still my gfx-card doesn't get as hot as before.

Is hot like before just now you have GPU temperature reading without offset (usually 8°C).

Well I already said that its not important. The most important thing is date of the driver and what works best for you. I dont give a damn what its for, as long as it works. You should read the whole thread before you post. Nobody likes a "know it all".. ;)
