Mine at 47% Fan First GPU is 56C 2nd GPU is 48C.

when using the Forcing Maximum Performance clock 1st Gpu goes to 63-65C 2nd goes 55-57C.

With load it can get to 80-85C.

    is that ok ?

i dont know what to do, do i need compressor to clean it , or just buy new freaking cooling, because i cleaned this card 4 times using 4 times Thermal paste, if its Arctic MX-2 it still doesnt help.

The temps are fine but you could set a fan profile to increase the fan speed under load so that it would run cooler when you are gaming.

38-42C IDLE depending on weather. I havent seen this thing go above 72 C in load. I also have a good bit of fans in my case. Having the Cooler Master Cosmos S, I have 3 Thermaltake 120mm's in the top, 1 in the back, 1 in the front, and 1 on the bottom. It also has a 240 mm fan on the side.

So it keeps things extra cool.

My fan is 40% atm, 47c and 45c idle. Inside room temp is 23c. My other profile lifts the fan to 44% but not used it much, would have to if i wanted to play cyris for example, without the auto leaf blower effect when the gpu hits 90c or so under load.

30-32 Idle, full load is under 60c.

For stock cooler, those temps are fine and expected. The card can run that hot without any problem. Increased case airflow can lower those temps and also increased fan speed under load, as suggested. Aftermarket coolers like mine substantially lower core temps but can also create problematicly high VRM temps at the same time.

But again, those temps are fine.

I was thinking of getting the Accelero Xtreme, but the HD 5870 X2 is around the corner. Unless this fan will fit it as well, which would be nice.

I'm sure I could get down into the 20's IDLE with that cooling.

Stop driving yourself nuts. The chips are designed to tested to run at 120c, so 80-90c is nothing.

There's no need to try to be an armchair thermal engineer. Leave the fan on auto, trust ATI's engineers and enjoy the relative peace and quiet of a slower fan.

So let me see if i understand this correctly:

Idle means = just browsing the net, looking at your desktop, etc.
    Under Load = Gaming

If correct, for the person who said you got 89c under load, thats not normal dude lol. I heard these new cards get up to 90c and someone from tigerdirect said thats normal haha.

Make a manual setup for fan speed/temp,
Keep in mind the high temp your gpu, hotter is cpu to.

well its very hot in israel, 33C just in room.

so double it with idle and triple it with Max Clock in Load.

the problem is not the gpu, how much can the GDDR5 handle ? can they reach to up 110C with no problems ? because their cooling suck

I dunno, I'm using a 1200 at the moment with 3x90CFM CM Red LED fans as intake, and both the bottom & middle one are directed right onto the videocard in an air conditioned room.

I got myself a watercooling set just for this card ...
    It works fantastic !
temperature idle at 35° load around 50°.
and after loading stops, it will get back to 35° within minutes ...
At the same time the watercooling cools my oc'ed cpu and is very, very quiet.

Mines AC'd also, so then I'm sure I could hit in the 20's. Sounds good, but I'm not sure as I said since the HD 5 series is just around the corner.

i did flash my card with this settings, the temps depending of the games and my A/C. :)

    With A/C

    40-43 IDLE

    70-80 LOAD

without A/C (i can note the fan speed go up faster)

    50-52 IDLE

75-87 LOAD (the memory side and temps seems much hotter 90c:gape:)

The fan speed is dynamic depending of games...

    NOTE: Sorry for my english:nerd:

Right now, 83 idle (havent played any games for many hours) this with an extremely well ventilated case. I can get down to 73 idle with another set of drivers.

This is most probably the last ATI card im every going buy, very disaponted with the heat/noise and lack of AA (comapared to nvidia) with this card. The drivers are ****, if i use the catalyst AI it will turn off one of my screens (cloned) when im in full-screen mode so i can never use the catalyst AI which kind of sucks since it will only use one of the 2 GPU's then. I could probably write a book about the bugs i've encountered with the catalyst drivers 8-something to 9.8.

Are you setting the fan speed manually? Something tells me you aren't at all. When I ran stock 40% was good for 2D stuff, for 3D I bumped it up to 60%.

I used to do that, but no i havent set it manually in quite a while, i like my card quiet and im sure 83c wont kill it.

52-55c idle ~70c load (ill double check load in a bit) this is using a silent 120mm fan on a hacked stock heatsink
