Funky -- Guru3D will have a reported over at BlizzCon this year. WoW.com spotted the mention of a special appearance by Ozzy Osbourne in the schedule of DirectTV who is doing a pay-per-view event of Blizzard's... More...
Aw, I don't think that's a fair assessment. I'm no WoW fanboy, I haven't played WoW since the original Beta was closed... However, I bet that commercial with Ozzy claiming to be the original Prince of Darkness and arguing it out with Arthas was good advertising for both WoW and Ozzy.
I will agree with you. However, there are many WoW fans who actually believe that Ozzy, Mr T etc DO play WoW and thus makes the game cool. When it's about as far from cool as can be.
What's with people calling World of Warcraft players, Nerds? I'm not a fan of WoW, but in case you forgot, you're on a PC forum. It's not really your place to talk. :3eyes: On topic, good for Blizzard. They aren't exactly making money with these kinds of conventions. I bet it costs a lot of money and money spent is money lost. Great for the long run though
Well, that was my point. I know you're most likely nerd because you're on these forums. I don't understand what you're getting at by calling people who play WoW nerds, and then calling yourself one.. but ok.
I guess my point is that anyone who plays WoW for anything other than a couple hours a day would agree with me. And most of us would not see being a nerd as a bad thing. Nerd culture rocks. You get a license to get excited over Star Wars and most of us get great majors and careers. But seriously, ask around. If you ever come across someone who says they raid, 95% chance that they also love Lord of the Rings and will one day be a great physicist or something. Hell, I was in a raid until from 9 PM to 5 AM with several other people. Seriously man, only a nerd would put forth that kind of dedication to a video game.
