Depends on your definition of a safe OC. For me it would be not exceeding the known safe operating voltage or temperature while being completely stable. Which ever comes first, instability, heat or voltage limit.

 

lets say ( safe oc = original life span , no performance degrading )

I'm paranoid when it comes to voltages....

 

I dont think its smart to do subzero stuff... Its smarter to just do normal watercooling. Subzero would for sure kill the lifespan... plus how do you plan to keep that going to the componants? Id also so that if you are going over the max safe voltage you are definitely killing the lifespan.

thanks for the info , its just that i remembered chipsy build with the phase change kit i wondered what if i did the same to my build instead of upgrading the whole setup..

 

Other:

System is stable, no overheating problems and voltages not over "max safe" values.

 

it seems like the winner choice here is the recommended volts along with a safe temp (water cooler maybe )

when you have everything clocked and cooled to the brink and it lives to see stock settings after your done benching

 

My idea of OCing, if I can afford to replace it I'll try it.
