Is there any difference to these stock 125Watt AMD coolers?

The only difference i could find is that the left one has one hole like thing in the mid more, pointed at with red arrows.

Also the copper heatpipes have a different colour.

I can buy one of these, which one would you recommend, or are they the same?

EDIT: oh lal forgot the picture

I've never seen those stock coolers before myself.

They look the same as the one that came with my 9850 BE.

The only thing that look different is the plastic shroud. What cpu are you going to be cooling? I recently used the same cooler on my old opteron 165, but i switched to a zip tied 120mm fan. It dropped my load temps by 10C, less fan noise, and dropped mosfet temps by 10C as well. I overclocked it to 2.7ghz but didn't want to spring for a new cooler and it worked out pretty well.

These only come with 125TDP or above CPU's

They deliver very good temps, but they come at the cost of being somewhat loud(er) then aftermarket coolers.

But yeah, I have an 5600+ and I am moving up to a 720, but this will be able to cool it to the extent that i can clock a little bit.

A much better cooler than the ones the 720be ships with (aluminum pos). You should consider using a 120mm fan with it for even better cooling. The 720be's running pretty cool with any halfway decent heatsink. If you're just aiming for 3.2-3.4ghz, you should be able to use this heatsink without having heat issues. Just be ready because that fan is probably going to be cranking.

Ya, I never bought a 125W part before, maybe that's why I've never seen it.

Amd's stock heatsinks are made by AVC if I'm not mistaken.

any of that will be good for your processor. i have two amd stock cooler, one from athlon single core 3000, one from athlon x2. the differences, the single core have 3 wires, while x2 have 4 wires. single core have slightly large on aluminium base. but on cooling performance, noise, they are same in everyway.

Foxconn makes the heatsink that came with my Phenom II 940BE.
