o keep getting the bsod after i switched parts to what i have now. I was getting it so i reformatted last night but now its still happening and idk whats causing it. Event Viewer says: The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck. The bugcheck was: 0x1000008e (0xc0000005, 0xbf015e28, 0xb66cd7dc, 0x00000000). A dump was saved in: C:\WINDOWS\Minidump\Mini061509-02.dmp. any ideas? im thinking its probably the videocard or the ram but idk how to check which 1
I don't know the code yet as it instantly restarted my pc. I turned off auto restart so the next time it happens ill know the code.
originally i switched everything and i kept the same hdd and didnt reformat until last night. i wiped the hdd and installed windows and so far it has happened twice but not since i made this thread.
Application popup: Team Fortress 2: hl2.exe - Application Error : The instruction at "0x00010101" referenced memory at "0x09e429b1". The memory could not be "written". I just got that. Would that lead you to think it was a ram problem? No BSOD yet.
IRQ_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL was just used as an example. Also, it's not necessarily a RAM issue. As with the memory issue, to test your RAM, run a memtest86. Download it here: www.memtest86.com Burn it to a CD, and boot with that CD. If it comes back no errors, your RAM should be fine.
No, PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA is usually indicating an overclocking failure or just the VRAM on the graphics card is failing. This BSoD can be caused by your system memory however, it seems like your graphics card is the bigger culprit. Before we say that it really is your GPU. Try doing a reinstallation of Windows first 'cuz one of the BSoD came from the USB 2.0 driver that Microsoft supplies... deltatux
Did you run the memtest86? Even though you can pretty much tell the RAM is dead, it would be nice to know.
Ya, memtest86+ is great, but unfortunately, it only tests main system memory. If it passes the main system memory, it could well be your GPU. deltatux
what exactly am i looking for when i run memtest? it just started up and looked like it was scanning. then it went really really quick and restarted, it gave me no messages or anything.
i ran memtest with both sticks in crashed ran it 4 times with just 1 stick in but in each slot works fine ran it 4 times with the other stick in once in each slot work fine run it in ANY combination with both sticks in, it crashes took my brother ram 2x1gb sticks works flawlessly put my ram in his computer and ran memtest, works flawlessly i think my mobo hates my ram.
