Hello there mates, It´s been a long time since my last post, been having lots of things to do an had to put pc´s away for a while. Last week my Evga 8800ultra Died on me, i have not been doing heavy gaming as of late but it was a big pain in the behind.... Now in my country its virtually imposible to find any high end video card cause we got restriction on the amount on us$ we can get. so the best card I could get my hands on was a pair of Biostar 9600 Gt the one with solid capacitors and the High end Hetasink: http://www.biostar.com.tw/app/en-us/vga/introduction.php?S_ID=59 In running a Evga 681i SLI and an Intel Core 6600, and 4Gb of Ram on a 600 Wth themaltake PSU. Im Running Windows Vista 45 extreme cause its the only legal copy of windows I could get my hands on. Any how a single card configuration works like a charm, and it runs things nicely but as soon as ia add the second card to run in SLI, it tries to recognize her for like 5 mins and then, A BSOD. in running on Nvidias lattest official drivers and a think it is a driver issue. the question guys is does anyone here knows of any set of drivers that would let me correct this? Changing the cards is not an option and neither is using any other OS ( yes I know vista sucks ass but Im stuck with it) Any help will be greatly aprecciated!
Did you try each of the cards separately? Did you try different power cables for the GPU? Did you update the BIOS of your motherboard to the latest version?
I had that problem with my 9600GT too, you have to boot in safe mode and and install lastest drivers or those that come with If you have any questions just ask!
don`t take this the wrong way, but just checking...... is ur second card in the correct pci-e slot, also, have you plugged a molex connector into ur mobo near to where ur PSU plugs into it (assuming its a 680i mobo) this is important as it directs power the pci-e slots for multiple gpu`s
have you also removed the previous drivers for the 8800Ultra. You could if you have removed old drivers boot into safe mode and install latest drivers that way, I had to do it that way with one of my other PC's
That I have not tried.... always getting the new ones from the web pages.. will do tonite as soon as I get home
I remember the way i fixed this 1 uninstall old drivers 2 reboot in safe mode 3 install drivers from the CD 4 Update to lastest drivers Hope it will help!!
Jeje no actually I got home soo late that i din not wnte to go fiddling on My PC innards at that unholy hour! will update as soon as I try! thanks
