    Subtotal: $3,215.86

Probably go with 2x 275's instead which would save $300 (just didn't have in stock yet). Still optional of just getting another 280 and SLI with my current one, but it died on me and first card to arrive from RMA can't play games (overheats within 5 minutes and crashes) so awaiting on second RMA. Feeling like getting new cards and just be done with it.

Could probably get a cheaper motherboard (Rampage II Extreme, non classified eVGA one) as well and save ~$60-150 but not sure.

Currently have 2x 22" Monitors but really want to get back to 1920x1200 24" monitors, but it's costly ><

Still debating if I want to do a new build. Would like to move up to i7, SLI, and 2x 24"- If I find a build I like and I'd probably go for it.

Well if you have the money, then go ahead, though I don't think the Classified is really that much better than other boards that it commands such a price premium.

The PSU you selected seems a bit expensive for a 850W unit, probably because of the silver certification. If you want to SLI 285s, or 275s, I still suggest a 1000w PSU just to be on the safe side. Though you don't need that much, its nice to know that at least your PSU is not working too hard to keep up, improving its service time, temperature, and noise characteristics.

Heres one that seems popular and good.

I'm not sure, but I think the V8 cools a bit better than the Noctua, and looks better (depends I guess)

I recommend 275s over the 285s, as the performance gap is marginal. However the most logical choice (and cheaper) would to find another 280.

I think you should also toss in a OCZ Vertex or one of those fast SSDs in. A low capacity would do, as all you need is the OS on there. It'll make a large difference in bootup times, and OS performance

That mobo is not worth it:
    DFI LP UT X58-T3eH8
    Foxconn Blood Rage

You can also save some if you get 2*GTX275's or GTX295.

Quality parts and then some Cheap TN monitors, why ?
Sorry I cant recommend you any monitors from NewEgg, but generally TN = bad.

seriously what is wrong with the PC you have now, you can still play games at a decent framerate at high settings, save that cheese and build you a new PC next year with even newer tech and gain and even bigger performance jump, just my opinion

You recommended these on another thread I was reading. :) Why do you like these mobos so much. I've been looking at this one myself.

Someone turned me onto this heatsink as well. I can't find too many reviews on them but what I can find is positive. And I really like the design. It makes sense to me.

as other peeps have said i wouldnt get the classified. something cheaper and $819 for a scc 285? we talking aus dollars?

seems way to expensive. and i wouldnt bother with scc or ftw versions. i think they are a bit of a con.

and $100 dollars plus for a stand..aish! no. i have a benq 241w and u can adjust the height no probs..and its swivels 90 i think (not tried it).

apart from that build looks ok.

2 video cards = 819, not just 1. 2 monitors stand is to help them line up and all that jazz (little OCD =X) as well as height adjustment. I like mine pretty high. Currently have phone books stacked under my 22" Samsung 226BW's

As for TN Panels, it's all I've ever used so don't know what I'd be missing anyway. And monitors are hardest piece for me to justify atm as I have 2x22" currently. And a decent IPS 24" is ~500-600 minimum

I'll most likely go for the 275's over the 285's, newegg just didn't have them in stock yet so I just put the 285's in the cart for now to gauge a total. Will see how this latest RMA for my 280 works whether or not I may decide just to grab one more and SLI that.

Motherboard.. yea I'll have to put some more thought in it some.

As for my current specs... yea it'll still last awhile. But the GPU dying on me got me looking into parts again so I'm tempted to go a new build. That way I could give my old build (Q6600, 4GB Ram, 8800 GTS [which is currently in this comp] -being used to stream videos to various TV's throughout the house) to my dad. Then I'd give this one to my friend. And have a brand new i7 beast for me =)

Hard to pick a winner, but results from those looked impressive and those mobos look good :D

And you can always use google to get more results.

oops my bad. check out the benq241w and how it can be moved and down. i was pleasantly suprised how much it goes up...very secure 2. and non tn panel. still think the benq241w is a yr old now so perhaps something newer if u are splashing out all that cash..

my tip re mobo is dont get one which has a fan for nb...my evga 780iftw was noisy. am not sure how the corei7 evga's are. i would be choosing from gigabyte, asus or dfi.
