I haven't gotten a good RTS in awhile. The last one I played through was WIC. What would you recommend? I'd like to stick with newer releases. I did enjoy NWN 1 and am not quite sure about the 2nd since there were mixed reviews on it. But I'm open to almost anything.
The World in Conflict: Soviet Assault thread http://forums.guru3d.com/showthread.php?t=263796 Empire: Total War thread http://forums.guru3d.com/showthread.php?t=289485 ...and just in case you missed them: Supreme Commander and Supreme Commander - Forged Alliance
True stuff. One of the bests RTS I have played. Though, the original was much better for me. Didn't like the expansion. ;(
I just started WIC again and I think it's even better the 4th time through Leant it to a few friends so I haven't played it since last year some time.
Good to see I'm not the only one who thinks this though I like the expansion too, are you guys using any good Mods/Maps? I'm currently playing the NHC Mod and the Battle of the Bulge Mod (prefer the NHC for gameplay, BoB for realism) and I've just started playing Thor Harbor map, it's a top map
new company of heroes coming out in awhile. (i like opposing fronts as well). etw can recommend (be warned though u might end up shouting at the screen/your men/sega/ca/steam). warhammer 40k2 is a good blast. short unless u get into the multiplayer.
Company of Heroes is one of the better RTSs I have played recently. I was really let down by Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3, though I am still trying to like it. It is just not fun. I hear nothing but praise for Sins of The Solar Empire, probably worth checking it out.
i love Compnay of Heroes too much. it doesnt bother u with lame base building or resource collecting tasks as also same developers(or iam wrong?) Warhammer: Dawn of war II. They call it Real Time Tactics anyway. I have no complain but happiness.
Sins of the Solar Empire and the expansion are great. Lots of replayability as each new game is different than the ones before it. As well your able to use any play style you like, defensive, offensive, mix, political. Most of my games vs 10 Computer players last at lest 15 hours or so. Also having a save feature for online multi player is great too.
thats a mmo not rts. (online roleplaying). played it got bored...but might give it another go to see if its improved. (does have quite a few solo quests...). if you want an online multiplayer i like dungeons and dragons online. also lotro is ok. or even warhammer online has its moments.. all of these u can quite happily kill/craft/chat to other peeps for hrs. has a monthly subs though..
I was actually wondering just because I'm really not for one to play online.* I deal with people all day, it's nice not to have to deal with them online too:approval:
