Yea i cleaned it, and it still happens. But I will try cleaning it again thourougly... And FOES,I am not sure what type of connection. But I think DVI
But I cant understand how dust can affect my monitor going into sleep mode, while I am still in game... I never dusted my older computer or even my laptop...and they still work perfectly fine.
The exact same thing happened to me and I figured it was the video card. It turns out the monitor was dying.
Have you overclocked any of the components? Use default clocks and try. Which cod title is giving you this problem? Are other games running fine? If nothing solves the problem it may be the psu. You may wanna get it checked. Use one of your friends psu for troubleshooting.
No i have not overclocked anything. Yes I am having trouble with other games such as Left 4 Dead... and I have 1000W PSU which is plenty. I think I will take it to a tech store, n get them to fix it for me. Because, I tried everything I am capable of and still cant fix it...
And Neo, I called up the monitor manufacturer and he said it was probably something to do with the PC... And this monitor is only 6 months old, but then so is the PC I built...
Put a different card in your system.. If it runs ok then that will elimate everything but the card as the cause and mabe time for an rma. If it still acts up with a different card then you have other trouble shooting to do..
is the recent nvidia driver. i have this problem too. try to put back the old driver again or reinstall the driver.
yea i tried the old and new drivers bud, but same result.. Im goona take it in into the tech stores and get it checked with them. Yes its goona cost be 50-100 bux, its better than loosing sleep over it.
So now, besides cod[4,waw] and l4d any other games causing problems??? My last question is, are you using cracked versions of those games? If yes, then your system is probably fine, please use original dvd's.
Just go out and buy a cheap $50 card to test with. Even if the new card has the same issue, at least you have a spare card laying around in case you ever need it.
No the copies of the game are all original...they are all DVD's instead of buying a 50 buc card, i can just go fix the problem with 50 bux...lol
There are tools out you can buy cheaply that insert into the pci buss that will diagnosis your prob, better then buying just a vid card wny not an all around tool for future probs? Im thinking about getting a tester myself for just a circumstance like yours.
hello guys, I know why I am having trouble...there was significant amount of dust build-up when I opened my computer case, and lots of people have suggested me that dust can cause such problems. So I will buy a compressed air can and clean it out this week. I would like to thank everyone for their feedback.
hahaha, but i think i know why im having the problem... Thers a lot of dust on the GPU, and the CPU heatsink...and lots of dust on all the fans inside the computer ima clean it out this week with a compressed air can.
Hi Viru, I cleaned out my PC yesterday, and I played call of duty for 2-3 hours and it ran perfectly fine. Touchwood, lets hope thats the end of the problem. I thank you all for all the feedback. And one more question, I am thinkin of adding another graphic card since I have 3 way sli capability. Can you add one gtx 260 and another gtx 280? Or do they all have to be the same graphic card?
