Hello all , recently i purchased a kit of COrsair dominator 2x2gb 1066mhz (8500c5df) . and so i booted my cpu and found out that my bios recognize the memory as 800mhz , and not 1066mhz like it suppose to be .
    any idea/clues ? what should i do?
    thanx.

put the mem volts to 2.1 and you will manually have to set mem freq to 1066.

    i managed to get 378x9 = 3.4 with 1144mhz 5-5-5-15 2t 2:3 @ 2.34v
what do u think ? is the voltage safe for 24/7 work ?
    thanx.

try to run the ram at stock because dominators are very finiky when there in a 4g configuration.

^ I disagree Death...depending on the revision of ANY brand of RAM, you can do anything from stock to 1200MHz +, and the best D9's can do that on stock voltage with default latencies.

I have a set of 2 X 2GB Dominator 1066 version 1.1 sticks, as well as 2 different sets of 1 X 1GB (totaling 4GB) that are also version 1.1. These are well-known D9 IC's that have no problems attaining a really high frequency with stock voltage and default latencies.

The problem with ALL DDR2-1066 RAM is that JEDEC does not recognize 1066MHz - so they're seen as overclocked DDR2-800 sticks, therefore, we're forced into manually entering the information (voltage, speed, and at least the first 5 latencies) in the motherboard BIOS so that they run at the correct speed...it's the motherboard and the BIOS that are to blame with this, not the RAM itself. (well, I suppose we could all blame the JEDEC if we wanted to;))

Anyway, since I have no experience with Intel, and 20+ years with AMD, I won't comment on your overclock, but I will say that 1144MHz is a respectable overclock for your Dominators.

As with ALL hardware overclocks, to truly know if your system is stable, you need to run stability tests...
    Intel Burn Test
    Orthos StressPrime
    OCCT
...are just a few - you *have* to run at least one of them for a period of time (I do Orthos for 24 hours) before you'll know if your overclock is worthy of 24/7 settings.

Hi Psychlone , we have the same kit (2x2gb 2.1v1.1).
anyway the 1144mhz configuration was failed on the test...
    i can't manage to get this RAM higher than wanted :( , now iv'e got it @ 1100mhz 5-5-5-15 4:5 2.4v @ 8x440 = 3.520 . (stable).
Now this is not my goal, my goal is to hit 1200mhz , thats why i bought them... ive searched all over the net (google , many forums, reviews..) and found out that there is no problem to hit the 1200mhz with those D9 chip Dominator. i'm starting to think it was a waste of money.
therefore i think i should try to test all speeds at stock voltage (2.1) , tho it doesnt sound reasonable that i can achieve higher clocks than with 2.4v.

nope you wound hit 1200 with those sorry.
1131 is the max they can do.
Might wanna look at g.skill pi series 1200mhz or Apogee GT 1150mhz..

btw. under advanced ram settings, there is a option called - Static tread Value this depends allot on system stability, default is 6 but for OC over 400fsb it needs minimum 7 or 8.

I think your memory wasn't at 800 stock because it may well be that your memory controller in the chipset doesn't support DDR2-1066 operations.

With all due respect, that's incorrect.

Here's one of hundreds of CPUz validations that I found of mine that clearly shows them at 1152...which is higher than 1131.

    http://valid.canardpc.com/show_oc.php?id=350540

Now, granted, that was a long time ago, when I first started overclocking the first of 9 Phenom 9850BE's, it was on an older SB600 chipset motherboard, and I loosened up the latencies because I was running with all 4 banks populated.
I know I've got more...I'll post 'em up when I find them - there's literally a TON of them I've got to sort through anyway looking for specific information for someone else...

The v1.1 Dominators are D9 ICs, every manufacturer has at least one revision of their flagship sticks with D9's, and none of them are really that much better than any others.

    http://ramlist.i4memory.com/ddr2/

Most D9 IC modules are capable of extreme overclocks (1200MHz or higher) with little to no voltage change, and little to no latency change (unless your on-die memory controller can't handle 2 channels at the same time! lol ;))

u sure lose latency (6-9-9-29), i can get higher clock too but i want it @ 5-5-5-15/18, and i will loose speed at higher latency.

    lol

yea at that high latency no wonder , i rather run it at1066 than at that high latency...
And those rams i recommended can do 5-5-5-15/18 @ 1200,.. so with all due respect you fail.

    @falloutboy

here are my settings for 3.56ghz oc

well so far i pushed it to 1120mhz @ 5-5-5-18 2.4v, STABLE... and trying to push it more .
I am not familiar with this Advance options ... if you have any suggestion on this it might help . thnx.

those advanced settings a pretty high but since ur running at that freq it seems ok, although you could lower them a bit.

here is my memtest. @ 1068

ok here is the first try, lol i had to tweak more ;)

and 2nd take it passed itelburntest 1.9 7 repeats, and i put cpu and gMHC skew back to normal, that clock skew made the mem. freq. jump from 532 to 535 in memset monitor, now its rock stable again 534mhz, i saw somewhere on some OC forum that it should help but i guess not :D.

mem settings in bios 5-5-5-15 / 3-3-5-54-3-8-auto-2t (these settings are default 800mhz ones btw, except static tRead which is 7 and tRFC 52)
