500w enough??????

    i got a prob im decinding to buy a pc
    following are the specs

    intel q9400 porcessr 2.6ghz (max power cnssmption 238w)
    asus pq5-se/r mothrboard
    xfx 9600gt (max power conssmption 277w)
    250gb hard

    im planing to buy a cooler master 500w power plus psu

    my question is will 500w be enough to handle dis?? (238+277=515w????)

    Your system will rarely use the 238W on CPU. I remember Intel CPUs have a 125W ceiling though...

    You're joking right? :D
    That's power consumption for whole system from the wall. A 9600GT needs ~5A from +12V line.

    Just try to buy a good 500W PSU not a craptacular cheap one. :)

    so guys hw about the cooler master 500w "power plus" psu?well i dnt hav much knowledge abt psu's

    well the gpu's max power consumption was found in a review well i dnt whether i hav been mistaken:bang:

    Any good 500W will do.

    I have always recommended Corsair's HX series; in this case their HX520.

    Ultra also makes some very reliable PSU's. Been using my LS for 4 years now in 3 different systems :)
